Where did you ride today?

Never been to Florida (yet). Looks beautiful.Wondering about gators?
There are small amounts of gators everywhere even in the clear spring water. But not many up here in the north. I've only seen 2 in 6 years anywhere West of Tallahassee They issue around 100 hunting permits in my county ever year so yup. Gators. 12 footers are around here.

Back from the garage with a brand spanking shiny new TüV sticker (Technischerüberwachungsverein, technical overseeing club) it is now legal again for us to ride for another two years on German roads.
We didn´t actually sail through the inspection without any issues, there were a few moments were the TüV-Inspector frowned, but they were not issue-y enough to ground us.

BAMA, I rode to BAMA. Not far. I was headed for Opp. Yes spelled just like Opportunity but with less "chances" of success., just Opp. I didn't actually make it to Opp. I was riding across UFF (Upper Forested Florida) with temps at 81 and I turned north around FlorALA! That's right on the line into BAMA.

As I rode north to Opp the temps kept opting out lower and lower. Then the sky opted out too. Fog and the temp was down into the 60's!!!! (69) by Onycha. Too cold for this Florida rider (in mesh gear) so I opted to headed south for Sweet Gum Head FL back in the UFF area.

UFFda the clouds were dropping so I headed downhill back to Pensacola Bay area home 20.

Now home waiting for someone to type in with "my grandparents used to live near Onycha".

No riding pic so here is a pic of where @TPadden used to live.

No pics but pulled the ST into Mundy Park parking lot in Coquitlam to change gloves, saturday afternoon loads of people, kids everywhere and a black bear ran out of the park right across Mariner Way at Chilko Drive down to the bike trails. Don't see that every day.

Dang, I STILL don't have my AK fixed! I rode the AK today to pickup something at the pet store which is a 7 mile round trip. Ended up going 26 miles! Just like my Burgman did my AK just keeps taking roads that triple or quadruple the miles to get anywhere locally. Still, just a short jaunt to the store.

I did make a belt adjustment on the AK final drive. I did not expect that to fix the above "issue" but I was hoping it would center the belt on the rear drive sprocket a little better. When I brought my AK home from the dealer the factory had it adjusted so it was just 1 mm from the outer rim of the rear sprocket. That's the minimum tolerance. There is a limit rim that keeps it from sliding off if it works its way too far out as well as another on the inside. I had it adjusted after replacing the rear tire a little too far inside so it was actually rubbing on the inner rim of the sprocket. Then I adjusted it back right away but it still wanted to be close to the outer rim, at about 1-2 mm. Yesterday I made one more adjustment to only one adjuster on the right end of the axle by just moving it a quarter turn of the adjuster bolt. Today when I looked at it when I stopped at the pet store and it was about 3 mm from the outer side and 4 mm from the inner side. Just enough to see that it wasn't perfectly centered but very close. Then I stopped at another place on the way back home and it was 4 mm on the outer and 3 mm on the inner sides. I have always known that it is normal for the belt on any belt drive will drift from one side to the other as long as it doesn't stay in contact with the limit rim. When I arrived back home it was right at 2 mm on the outer and 5 mm on the inner sides so still good. Seems to depend on how fast I am riding and if I lean one way or the other just before I stop to look at it.

Took the wifey out on a short ride. Poked around some stores, got some brisket and rode some more. Just 50 miles. Beautiful day but supposed to snow Monday. Hell, I thought we were done with this mess. Guess I will cage it for the first part of the week.

Rode over to the county assessors office today to pickup my new custom personalized plate for the AK 550. As usually happens this trip would be 27.4 miles if I took the direct route. Instead my AK "forced" me to make it 56 miles.
Only one photo. You can tell from this pic that I really need to wash the AK but just haven't had the time or the weather to do it just yet so I won't post a better pic until I do.
The lighting was distorting the color and reflecting badly here so I'll just have to get to washing the bike and take another better photo.

I could have made it a letter "O" there, but I was keeping to the actual model number of my AK 55Ø.
