What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Finished putting the 07 ST1300 back together today after some major service items were completed, replaced rear output shaft seal, rebuilt water pump, replaced clutch friction plates, replaced valve cover gaskets and adjusted four exhaust valves.

I took it out for a spin of 104 miles today stopping for gas in Buellton, there a man with an accent comes running over and asks me if that is a new Honda!! I tell him no it is a 15 year old motorcycle with way over 200,000 miles on it. He could not believe it. Makes me feel good about putting some time and money back into this old ride!! :biggrin:
 
once home from henry's i moved the Mustang out of the driveway then got a few tools. i backed the Mighty ST 1300 down the driveway then took off the seat, right side bag, and cover then removed the battery. with the new battery, side cover, bag, and seat reinstalled i fired up the bike then rode up and down the block for about a half hour. i wanted to get the new battery installed today cause it might rain tomorrow and the Mighty ST is heading to the shop Wed, i'm loosing fluid for my clutch. i'm starting off the season with 87,836 miles on the clock 20220314_162145.jpg20220314_162956.jpg
 
Went to wake up Brego from his winter hibernation. When I put him to bed I intended to pull the battery and put it on a trickle charger. In a long list of things I was planning to do that never got done I can add that one.
So I was convinced that the battery would be dead or at least somewhat down a few volts. Well, surprise surprise. Voltmeter reading was 12.4. I immediately went to buy a lottery ticket.
Removed some plastic in preparation of mods and some PM work.
He seems to have slumbered well.
 
Took the ST out for its first real ride of the season and proceeded to lose the pannier. I must have forgotten to lock it when i put the tire back on. good thing these wonderful STeeds are still in production that parts are plentiful and cheap. MISSING BAG.jpg

I guess you retraced your route and couldn't find it?
 
I took the Big Blue Bus out for a shakedown 400km run on my favourite twisties today. This was my first decent ride since bringing the bike home after buying it, and it has had a fair amount of TLC applied to the brakes, fluids and filters, plus I removed the topbox and fitted the smaller stock windscreen. Very happy with the way the brakes and engine performed, and I had a great run around in the sunshine, arriving home pretty fresh after nearly 5 hours of constant riding. Even the previously leaky fork seal seems to have sealed up (or possibly all the oil has escaped!).

Dropped my bike by my stupid mistake )


When I was preparing to start a ride, first I was distracted by walking by man with his questions about motorcycles, after that biker came to me and asked for help with a blown fuse.
Found him a fuse, and then started my ride, but forgot to remove lock from the brake disk.
Bam, and down I went. Tore off speedometer cable and broke right plastiс that covers the slider bar.

I need a check list)
