What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Actually pointing into the is West but didn't drop the door. Although you are correct because it was not going back into the garage for the next 3 weeks.
You're still doing better than me... I'm working....

Just officially put my 12 ST 1300 on the dark side,

Was it UN-officially dark-sided, and we just didn't know it?

How do we tell?

Do we have to pass a test, or go before a committee to get certified, or pay a DD fee to get it inspected?

I'm afraid I may have been posing all these miles as Double-Dark, just because I have a car tire in the back and a back tire in the front!

/SARCASM!
;-)

Well just 6000 miles on the PR5,s on the 12 and about 26,000 miles on the dark side tires on the 07 and the PR5,s are pricey.

I overlooked the multi-bike option, sorry.

Yes, my favorite m/c tires are budget-busters too.

I'm glad to be DD now on the ST, and have yet to realize any performance loss in cornering, comfort, freeway droning, or sportiness.

Love the black rims, actually the whole bike looks sexy!

and have yet to realize any performance
I know how you feel, didn't notice myself, until I switched back. You would probably have to be doing some very technical low speed maneuvers on the same bike under the same conditions to notice.

I do slow speed drills, and I don't notice even then.

And I do it a LOT, to stay sharp.

Maybe due to the narrower / rounded profile of the Vredestein? This is the only darkside tire I've ever had, and only on the 1300.

That Vredestein tire does make a huge difference on handling, all of the other brands that I tried were too flat and made slow speed handling tougher. I like that tire so much that I already have the same tire to replace the almost worn out rear tire on my 07 ST.

That may be my next one... thanks Mike. Is that a chrome or black chrome gas cap, the more I look at your bike the more I see how awesome it is.

That is just a black carbon fiber looking sticker on the gas cap. I do like the look of the 12 with all of the black on that bike.

I just took the 12 for the first ride on the new tires and it is like riding on the PR5,s that I replaced unlike the BFG tire.

@970mike it would be a good read if you would do a full overview of your mods to the 12 bike. post up a thread for us with lots of pictures and words. Lots of words!

Did you paint or powder coats those control pods?
