What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Spoiler and dash (lights on, but daylight... you can see the white on black LCD)

Through the spoiler (a little distortion, but quite tolerable) With the screen fully down, I'm looking well over the top of it, still getting a breeze, and still clean air. Raising it to just below my eye-line removes the breeze but there's no buffeting. I've not tried fully up yet... Currently I've angled the spoiler parallel with the top of the screen.

Here's the link to the spoiler (plenty of other suppliers) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284425434537
and the dash LED upgrade https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152335382541

Thanks for the details @mjc506 I'm good with soldering wires and basic components with leads on circuit boards. I guess I should get some old scrap PCBs and practice my SMD technique. I fretted over the lightenupgrade kit vs. BlueGauges.com till I was frozen into inaction and decided to give BlueGauges the job. Glad you're happy. I did white on black with mine too and am very pleased.

So are you saying the non-OEM part is the overlay panel with the printed scales and the text? If that, okay, I thought you meant the whole electronics board which would have been, whoa! didn't know such a replacement was even available.

You should be fine. Worst you can do is pull a pad off the PCB, and there's plenty of 'track' around to make up new connections. Seems decent quality PCB too which helps! Of course, BlueGauges is never a bad decision :) Equally, an extra skill in the toolbox can't hurt, the LEDs are relatively large, some of the ICs are pretty small in comparison, and the 0201 components (0.6mm x 0.3mm!) are like trying to solder a grain of sand haha

Ah yes, sorry, I couldn't work out what to call it either - you're correct, just the overlay, not the mechanics and electronics of the gauges.

Here's the 'glare' through the black. Not the best photo, but considering it's still light out (17:15 local time) you can see the 'glow' starting just outside the two screws on each dial...

As I'm sure you can imagine, much worse at night!

I put a new fuel pump and fuel filter on my 13 after flushing the rust out of my tanks (plural) with citric acid. Bike was running like it was out of gas....which it was. Worked beautifully. Tanks look like new. Bike running great now. It feels wonderful now. 59 degrees here this am and I'm riding.

Perfect weather combined with perfect roads (well, the ones that were paved anyways ;)) and an incomparable road captain in @catcher (George) = I can’t get this smile off my face. ONSTOC!!!:thumb: What a fantastic day. Can’t wait ‘til tomorrow.

Linking stuff came off. New master cylinder on. Radiator and front end coming back together. Bike stays on the front lift until it has brakes again.

Pictures are showing up as black boxes. :shrug1:

Rode from home in North Texas to Lamar, CO today, on my way to Ft Collins for work, again. It was the 2nd hottest ride I’ve ever had. About 4 hours today in 106-110°. Was 63° when I left home this morning. Should be cooler tomorrow.

My worst day was many hours at 114-117° a few years ago going to San Diego from TX, mostly across I40. Looking forward to 59° tomorrow morning, and maybe even a little rain, although supposed to be smoky.

I’m riding my brothers 2021 Goldwing DCT on this trip. Boy, cruise control and highway pegs are really nice! The stock seat, not so much.

Edit: guess this post is in the wrong thread… I’m not on my ST.

Loading properly now. Speaking of getting loaded...

There were a lot of hydraulics crossing the bike. Here are a couple locations where you might notice something missing.

And the new 5/8" Nissin MC. If it is still a little small, I'll offer it to the gentleman who's running 5 brake pistons up front with the stock MC once the 19mm shows up.

DeLinking?

Yesterday went for a lovely ride through the countryside, nice sunny windy day here in Lincolnshire! Called in at a very well known roadside cafe called ‘Willingham Woods’. Couple of hundred motor bikes maybe more parked up, people chatting, drinking tea swapping stories. I bumped into a chap I know so we had 10 minutes together, he really liked my Pan. It struck me that other than one Matchless I saw nearby there were very few older bikes. No Pans. I guess I will get used to that.

Started out at 4:30 AM to run up to Manhattan for a seat swap with another member, stopped for coffee

Headed up the West Side HGWY to Peekskill then over to Port Jervis on RT 6

saw 3 ST’s on the way. Had to see Hawk Nest

Was looking for A-Z and Tags but it was not to be…
Next time.

Removing all the plumbing that links the front and rear brakes.
So you are only running a single piston on the rear caliper now? Or did you modify or replace the rear caliper as well?
Just curious.
