What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

JR used to have numerous locations around North Carolina and elsewhere. I think all but a very few have closed. This one in Burlington was always the main one, so I imagine it'll last the longest.

I too used to go to the Tinder Box in the mall, back before malls (and tinder boxes) largely went the way of Block Buster. Now I buy 95% of my pipe tobacco and the occasional cigar online.

Well I went for a little evening ride after getting the kids to bed. Nothing long or far, just a jaunt around the countryside to feel the wind and enjoy some evening scenery. Well, on the way home, I was headed almost due west, which means the sun was right in my face. As a result, I didn't see an ENORMOUS pot hole until it was too late to do anything about it other than stand up on the pegs and hope for the best. She bottomed out pretty hard. How hard, you ask? Hard enough to knock both mirror cowlinga loose. It was quite jarring to say the least, but thankfully nothing worse happened!

I'd be inspecting your rims for damage before you declare victory
Glad your ok.
Last week I almost rode into an open hole in the middle of the street!
Some idiot removed and probably stole a manhole cover.

I think ALL our antique cast bronze manhole covers have been illegally 'recycled' for just a few bucks each,

Adjusted my seat position and took advantage of perfect riding weather to test it. 500kms later, I can honestly say that these mods now make the ST a true long distance machine. By this, I mean that I can do some distance pain free. Did a loop into the Laurentide mountain range and enjoyed a day in Quebec which is celebrating it’s provincial holiday today.

Since I was already "working" on the STead today, I decided today was the day to add my FIAMM Highway Blasters and USB power point. I really love the tupperware when I'm on the road, but my god I hate it when it comes time to work on the bike. Oh well. Either way, everything went in nicely and works as it should!

I like your helper. What oil does he recommend?

Doctors appointment first, then I took Brega to a Covid friendly breakfast followed by a visit to the STealership for some pricing on some parts. Coulda called but where's the fun in that!

Finally swapped my instruments background from MPH to KMH.

P.S The image with the original background shows the needles at their default resting location.

The reliability of 1300's is unbelievable. Nothing breaks, nothing needs repair. I've been commuting a lot more since the CV19 shutdown. Did do a deep cleaning...wash, wax, treat the unpainted plasticwork, polish the windshield and stainless this morning before the rain started.
What product do you recommend for polishing windshield?

I rode STella to the dealer to pick up a filter and oil for June's second oil change, followed by a sponge bath.

Great job!
Did you have to buy new speed read outs or did you find a used set?

I bought a new 3rd party printed readouts from a Polish company Venoxy.
P.S their needle stopping pin holes were a little too large so a drop of super glue was needed for securing them properly.
Added a photo of the readouts before installing and redneck needle “locating”
