Tip over bars vs. tip over bars.

Just wrecked my second set of BygDawg bars.

First set was damaged when they ripped the fender off a car that tried to kill me. Not a scratch on the bike.

Second set got wrecked on my recent trip when I clipped a deer at 75mph. The bar is bent badly at the weld and the power coating cracked off. Tried to bend it back, and with a vise and 1 meter pry bar, I can't budge it, so you can imagine the force it absorbed. It wasn't bent back far enough to touch the saddle bag, but without it, I'm sure the saddlebag would be GONE, and maybe I might be Gone too, if I'd lost control.

Is Jay still making these things, or did the MCL version put him out of business?

Getting a replacement set of bars (#3) from Jay (BygDogg). Hopefully I won't have to crash test any more of them, but I was very happy with the first two sets. If not for the bars, I'd be on my 3rd left saddlebag at this point, and the Tupperware is a lot more expensive to replace!

Just a quick question. If using the Honda bars does it affect the opening of the saddlebags? I'm assuming they still open fully.
