Yes, ill be carrying at least a gal of water and some gatoraid. There is camping near humbolt, which is about 300 away. The first 100 is thru the hills and if they r like today, im gonna get another workout.that's the fun part about riding northwestern California. 62°F at the coast, 100-105°F a half hour inland.
Dunno if you've ever heard about this, but when it gets hot soak your T-shirt in water, put it on under your jacket and leave the zipper cracked just a bit. Evaporative cooling works great in our hot/dry conditions. I also pour water into the helmet liner to soak it as well.
FWIW, yesterday I was riding in 105-112°F, so I had to use that technique myself.
