Thanks Tip, a couple of the night market pics are a few posts back. Great place to see local ethnic arts and crafts.

Here is Tim with us discussing rental of these two bikes after he let us test ride them for over an hour.

Well Danny, I sure hope you made a deal!! :)

The deal has been pre-handshaken but may still need alterations as the 65$ USD daily rate on the KLX 250 is high but the Chinese 125 joe is on only goes for $25.
The diffence between them on the test ride was dramatic in that the 125 has poor drum brakes and an odd gear ratio step between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. The seat is comfy and there is hugh luggage capacity though.
the KLX 250 has strong acceleration and stiff brakes but a horrible seat and bones minimal surface area to strap gear. It could work though.

We are going to look into a couple of 250cc Baja Honda duelsports at $45 USD per day.

These first four shots are from the night market on main street where they close the street to traffic each evening to make room for all these local and tribal arts and craftsuploadfromtaptalk1363452148161.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363452241394.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363452304221.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363452381819.jpg

A view of a tributary entering the Mekong under a perfectly located restaurant where Joe and I struck up a nice conversation with a couple of German gals who are on an extensive tour of the world.uploadfromtaptalk1363452726686.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363452862318.jpg

Here are some of the temple which is on a mountain in the middle of town. It was a great walk up and back down but it didn't do Joe much good as he came down with what looks like another case of food or water sickness. uploadfromtaptalk1363453185520.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453262083.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453302107.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453358241.jpg

Here is the picks of Cyrus and I getting back together after about a month of traveling apart. It may be worth a remention that I first met Cyrus two years ago in Guatemala while I was riding down to Panama. He is a world rider based out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We just happened to met him again at a cycle rental place in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This effervescent Chinese gal, Mimi, just showed up about ten minutes before these shots were suggested. She is traveling alone and has been to quite a few places already. uploadfromtaptalk1363453458072.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453487974.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453520178.jpguploadfromtaptalk1363453548173.jpg
Five uf us went to dinner, but unfortunately Joe opted out as he was not feeling well. He is better now though.

Pictures looks fun Danny, thanks for posted up for us to enjoying with you guys! I saw those nice cars while I was there also.... actually the red Citroen was just finished restoring in VTE at body shop while i first saw it. somewhat looks like my 34 Studebaker Dictator.

Krup jai ly ly, Tip....it wasn't fun getting these pics up here but taking the shots is very enjoyable. Sorry the quality took a step down with the older Droid Pro phone, but it's better than nothing after the Galaxy S3 went for a swim in the Andaman Sea.

The Car shot were taken with you in mind, Tip. I thought that Citroen looked like your Dictator. Funny that you know this same car. :)

Good morning Danny Joe, that would be Korp jai ly ly,,,2 you! for sharing your great adventures pictures in my homeland, its small world nowadays that we can connects and see what's happening on another side of the world instantly. When will you guys go to Plain of Jars? I think that Citroen is in later 50's looked very close to my 34 Studebaker :)

Plain of Jars waits for Joe to feel better. Meanwhile, we both rest up from so pretty active touring and moving around. I'm totally OK with sitting still for a few days right here.
Although, having Cyrus around trailing an effluent of naturally occurring testosterone, and with his little 125 scooter, that is in this province illegally due to it's size and insurance regulations, may be an influence on what we wind up doing.

A fellow came out to us while we snap shot the Citroen and he said it was from the thirties, but wasn't really sure.

I'm home (about 3:30AM today. Haven't been to bed yet but did get a couple naps in this afternoon.

UA couldn't improve on the projected 8-hour lay-over at LAX so I cancelled out and rented a car. Found out when I turned it in at Kingman Airport this morning I could have flown direct via Great Lakes Airways to Kingman (flight left LAX at 6:05PM), been home in an hour and a half, and cheaper than the car rental. <heavy sigh> Ah, well, such is life. At least Deba didn't have to make the 5 hour round-trip to 'Vegas starting ~10 PM last night. Next time I make an international flight, I'm flying from Kingman to LAX, nothing else makes sense. Live 'n learn.

Glad youse guys got a couple choices on bikes, awaiting more pics. Hope Joe feels better soon. I'm still unwinding.

No, not 30's more like 1957 or 58 Citroen, my neighbor used to drove one around VTE back in later 60's early 70's I was helped repaired @ my younger dayz. Hope Joe will recover asap. No ice in your drinks! did you go to check out Mr Thep's art studio? or take a walks down on street checks on those old temples they're all inline on one of the street. Resting up is nice LP is very layback town anyhow...

Here is 51 citroen not 57

Yes, LP is absolutely the perfect place to walking meditate around town.

Cyrus is off with his next gal, a joyous blond dreadlocked Parisian. (missed that pic, darn... may get a second chance later) They ran off to the local waterfall/swimming attraction on his scooter. He is a really nice guy, with a kookiness and constant energy for life.

George, seems to me, you got your most Epic adventures on the way to SEA and de way back home! by frying with UA! Hope you got free around trips tickets as future flight. :plane1:

Walk the banks of the Mekong River in a World Heritage Town and you get scenes like this one.

After a humorous negotiation process, I get my sandals repaired for slightly less than it would cost to get a new pair. But the entertainment value was worth the price

Only problem with discounts 'n free flights: Gotta Fly United to collect. ;)

We're just getting out of our beds. I wanted to get to the yoga class that Rachel, a school teacher here from Winnipeg, told me about yesterday.
"Yoga everyday at 7:30 AM on a platform overlooking the river" Maybe tomorrow.
Joe is doing better but is still focused on staying in range of a crapper so we'll relax another day in Sweet Luang Prabang, Laos. We can get back over to Tim and talk about a Honda Baja 250, and ATM some more money.

Off to get a bite to eat now. Thanks for staying with us during the quiet times.
