An actual gauge? This beast had the 460 in it and I remember watching the gas gauge drop as I drove it the 1/2 mile home!
I always figured they must have just a view-glass where you observe the flow... or the bubbles after driving off on green...

I could do that to work on the 351M in my '78 Bronco.I remember when a car had enough room to work on them, oh and drop your wrench or socket you picked it up off the floor.

In 69 My best friend had a 59 dodge same as in the picture for his first car. It was lots of fun.We had one of these when I was a kid. I remember laying down on the rear deck & looking up at the stars when we were on the highway at night.
I had a 79 with same engine. Mine had a 4 speed with granny low. Had to sell it when we moved into our new house. Had a 23 month old and one due any day. Needed a refrigerator and fence worse than the Bronco. I did love it. There is a place near hear that specializes in restoring those. I'm afraid to stop in and look.I could do that to work on the 351M in my '78 Bronco.
With the lift kit and oversized mudders, I barely had to duck to pick anything up from under it!
p.s. - I loved that truck.![]()
M? Is that different from Windsor and Cleveland?I could do that to work on the 351M in my '78 Bronco.
The 351 Modified is supposedly a 400 destroked to 351 c.i.... massive torque.M? Is that different from Windsor and Cleveland?
Great gas mileage on the highway with the 4BBL carb (25+ mpg) but sucked in the city.I had a 79 with same engine. Mine had a 4 speed with granny low. Had to sell it when we moved into our new house. I once had a company truck with AM radio only, the only thing I could listen to all day that didn't make me crazy was the Country music station, I wasn't really a Country music fan but developed an appreciation for it by neccesity. If you want more commercials try what was only available for us po' kids, AM radio. And that was if you faced the transistor radio the right way.
That's what happened to me, when 80s big hair bands became popular. They called that "rock"? Well, the big hair and the dying gasps of (*choke*!) disco. Pfffttt.I once had a company truck with AM radio only, the only thing I could listen to all day that didn't make me crazy was the Country music station, I wasn't really a Country music fan but developed an appreciation for it by neccesity.
Still do, every other day.
