My favorite was broadcast live periodically through the show, set up to look like it was performed in an industrial lab of some sort but it was clearly back stage. Boat motor mounted to a large glass water tank. The watch was strapped to one blade and a guy wearing a white lab coat fired it up and twisted the throttle. It threw water all over the set and sent the watch into nowhereland. When they returned to the commercial later in the show, they found the watch, with a butchered up band and cracked crystal, but it was...guess what?....still ticking.

Not sure if it's that commercial or another one but I can still hear the announcer. "This Times----------------does not work anymore"

Nowadays, it feels like 10 min. show, 25min ad break.. Plenty of time for a relaxed visit to the bathroom (or bedroom)

We used to get ours in the Sunday paper for the whole week. It fit in a small section. Did not have 1000 channels with most replaying old sports shows
Ours was in the Saturday paper in a section called the Green Sheets.
