Looking Out From My Recliner In The Holler This Morning

Wow that far south?

We got 11" of the stuff on Monday/Tuesday, basically crippling the city, now we are supposed to get another 3-5" this afternoon. They don't even have all the streets cleared from the last snow (and no place to put it).

I haven't ridden in 5 days :(

I was raised in Los Angeles area. Moved to Lake Tahoe in 1990. The first sierra storm I experienced was frightening to me. I went to bed one november night and awoke the next morning to 4 feet of snow in my driveway. I was blown away. Talk about making adjustments. Laugh if you will, I did not prepare nor expect this event (dummy huh). Lol. Tall tales that are true make life worth living for.

It started about 11:00 AM in my holler so far 2 + inches and supposed to last till late tomorrow morning we could see 6 inches or mot at this rate. Dont look for it to melt off for days. We are at 3,000 feet elevation. The photo was at 2 PM

Last two days we have not seen any more white stuff coming down. For the previous 6 days, we got between 2 - 3", every nite. Just enough that I had to blow our driveway and our rental property's drive. Temps have been in the low 20's. What would I do without snow?

Rest easy? ;)

Update from my holler. Still snowing on and off and looks like 4 1/2 inches on the ground so far. 20 degrees with wind blowing.

We had a little sleet here in SC- not enough to accumulate on the roads or grass, but felt it and saw it bouncing off the hood of the car. It’s been colder here than during previous winters…a few mornings in the low to mid 20’s, then warming to ~ 40-45 degrees. Not warm enough (for me) to ride- my minimum is ~ 45-50 as a high temp.
