Itchy Boots

I remember back in the late 90's being hooked on reading the travelog of a gal that circled the states on a Ural. Very entertaining! Then she toured China on the Chinese sidecar rig. Quite an adventure. I wish I could remember her name or what she called that blog.

Itchy Boots is awesome, too!

I would almost bet that even if she has had something stolen or messed with, she would not mention it in her videos unless it was severe enough that she had no choice. I think that is her style.
+1 I'd guess she doesn't want a negative data point to be a sweeping impression to viewers mainly because that can happen anywhere. Good call on her being sharp with other cultures.

I really like the occasional bits when a group of people realize the rider is a woman and are surprised. It's amusing until you consider why it might be such a surprise. But I still look at the amusing angle.

I’m glad our Noraly is not in Dakar right now with the riots ongoing.
Hmmm! I've been looking at the rainfall records over the last few weeks for that part of Africa that Noraly has and will(?) travel over. The weather mostly comes from the sea and mostly stalls against rising ground along the coast. Just occasionaly the rain makes it further inland. Logically Noraly will stick to the backsides of the hills, which should allow for easier travel.
However, Mali, Burkino Faso, Niger and their borders with the coastal regions have a really bad rep. for foreign travelers. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/
Togo is not bad. Benin is a bit tricky. Nigeria is dodgy in parts and all the Cameroon borders are pretty much a no-go area.
I'm sure she is aware, but where will she stop?

A spaghetti western, to be precise.
Agreed.

It just snapped clear to me a few minutes ago ... Sergio Lione (vs Sierra Leone) was the well known director of the classic spaghetti westerns. I had the DVD of Once Upon a Time in the West (among others), and I watched it all the time (too much according to my wife). It won many accolades. As time went on, my interest in westerns waned. Anyway, thanks for the hint !

"On 24 May 2023, a heavy rain storm felled the cotton tree with only the lower part of its enormous trunk still standing. President Julius Maada Bio mourned the loss, saying there was "no stronger symbol of our national story than the Cotton Tree, a physical embodiment of where we come from as a country". He vowed to include diverse voices in creating a new monument including remnants of the tree."

Well, we now have some idea of when Noraly was in Freetown......

An extra note - Is this the problem/fix to her bike noise - hope so?
