Highway 93 - Another Uncle Phil Adventure

So I'm not the only fossil using Microsoft AutoRoute (Streets & Trips over there) for sketching out multiple day trips... ;)

Happy trails UP!
It's the best software I've found for that purpose.
I also have AutoRoute for the times I come across the pond.
It's a real shame Microsoft stopped releasing them - trying to force folks to go to Bing Maps I guess ... ;)

While not directly on the subject line, I still use Microsoft Streets and Trips to plan rides. It's the 2013 version. I run it on my MacBook using Windows 7 (which runs under a piece of software named VMware).

I have not found a better program to plan trips. I have been forced to use BaseCamp but I found a way around that for some things.

Have a good trip sir.

My GPS systems use .KML files so I run freeware GPSBABEL which has a conversion for .EST files to .KML (and about every other GPS format).
But you have to find an 'older' version of GPSBABEL as the newer one does not include a .EST option. ;)

I used to have MS Street and Trips, until MS killed it on my computer. Now I use mappite.org to plan my trips and load those into Basecamp or directly into my Honda Goldwing GPS.
Mappite can export as .KML files as well.
Just an FYI.

Streets & Trips is the best! Easier than the new stuff, but I haven't updated it for a few several years. have it on an old computer that is used only for planning trips.

Looks like you are getting close to Tombstone, Arizona. A great history story still exists in the old part of the town. The Little Bighorn site has probably changed somewhat since I saw it in 1983, but standing near the hilltop, overlooking the valley below and the markers denoting where Custer and several of his men fell, gives a sense of the horror they must have faced as they saw the enormous number of warriors coming across the valley below towards them.

Hope you have a trouble free journey!
No disrespect but a brief history of The Battle of The Little Bighorn may be in order. Custer messed up.

Uncle Phil be safe out there and be careful riding through the heat wave that looks like it is sitting over most of your route.
