Here We Go Again - News From The Holler

Best wishes UP on the plumbing work needed. Hope they get it right this time ‘cause I’m overdue for a bear hug❤️

Uncle Phil..... my best wishes to you. If it helps, I have some silicone tubing I could send down, or you could send me your vein and I'll run it through my ultrasonic cleaner and send it back. Lemme know either way, want you healthy!!

The real frustrating thing about all of this is that I had never had a single blood clot until they installed the aneurysm stent and put me on blood clot prevention medicine (Xarelto then Eliquis). No wonder they call it 'practicing medicine' ... :think1:

Uncle Phil.
It's a tragity that the borders were closed n couldn't wish you well in person on OHStoc.
I believe some of these drugs prescribed have more side effects than good they do.
I can send you a proven plan that some truck drivers I know are on to rid themselves of doctor prescribed diabetes medications. These guys have reversed thier medical problems and are now pain free.
Something to consider is the natural approach.
I'm here to help. Sending good vibes in the meantime.

Fortunately, diabetes is not an issue for me. My problem is that my underlying infrastructure is wore out ...
Some along the lines of 'rode hard and put up wet too many times'. ;)

Would this be the new 'engine' diet by any chance (developed by a fire fighter)?

Yes that was where the link took me.

... as opposed to the new 'doughnut" diet (developed by a cop)?

Who's opposed to that??? Certainly not me. Chocolate frosted chocolate cake donuts with chocolate sprinkles. Yum!

The problem with the diet 'dejour' is that they generally promise they will cure everything from ingrown toenails to cancer.
I appreciate the suggestion but I've already tried a similar vegetarian style diet and it did not fix anything except reduce my wallet and expand my waistline. ;)
The real problem is something a diet can never fix - our genetics.
My super high cholesterol has been proven to be a genetic issue (bunches of tests) and what I eat and drink and how much I exercise will have very little effect on it. But I don't clog from my high cholesterol (arteries are clean as the surgeons who have had a peak inside some of them tell me).
This issue is that an implanted medical device is generating blood clots despite me taking a high-powered anti-clot medicine.
And the doctors are completely confused by that little bit of physical evidence because it does not fit their 'standard' profile.

Ask to be checked for the Factor V Leiden genetic defect. Google for details.
I appreciate the information and if this was a problem before the stent, it would be worth doing the test.
But it appears to be about DVT - deep vein thrombosis - and all of my clots are arterial clots. ;)
And in 65+ years I never had a clotting problem at all with great circulation in both legs (checked every 6 months by my PCP for years).
Once they installed the abdominal aneurysm stent (to keep it from bursting), I started having arterial clots - and only in the left leg out of the left branch of the stent.
For some reason, the left branch of the stent is shooting out clots when my heart rate stays between 120-130 beats per minute for a period of time.
So tomorrow I have lots of questions for the current doctor about such stuff.
He didn't create the problem (that was 2 doctors ago), but hopefully he can figure it out.

Did he have a stent installed or any other such device when the problem occurred?
Mine 'went into action' less than 60 days after installation.
I will definitely mention it to the doctor.

He did have some surgeries around that time and also routine joint shots for arthritis. No stents that I'm aware of, that doesn't mean he doesn't have any.

I will also mention he was in the hospital for a long time before anybody thought to look there. What alerted me is the simple fact that your doctors don't know what it is and it's been a while. In my experience involving a sample of 1, f5l is worth looking at, especially given that it is a simple blood test.

Ah, surgeries - I've had plenty of those!
It's added to my long list of 'questions' for tomorrow - thanks!
