Great Radio!!!

I spoke with Prospec electronics on Wednesday, Eric said the boxes were in hand and the radios would definitly be in Boaters worlds hands by the end of June. Boaters world e-mailed me that all shipping is 2 day so hopefully we will have our radios the first week in July!!!!!!!!

Wonder how many orders they've received? I tried to "track" my order number yesterday and received nothing. I did a "review" of the product:
By George from Kingman, Arizona on 6/22/2007
Your rating: 1 stars
Headline: This product is still not available!!!
Pros : Who Knows
Cons : Not available
Best Uses : Can't get it yet

The product will probably live up to expectations _if we ever get it_!!

I just checked Boater's World web site and says, "Be the First to Review this Product!" :D

Guess I'll re-order but I ain't holding out hope to get it before 7-7-07 _or_ WeSTOC!!

I just tracked my order and it still says, On order and will ship as soon as in. We shouldn't have to reorder it.

I now have _2_ on order. The first order disappeared after I didn't give'em a credit card number. Assumed it was canceled s re-ordered on my card and _both_ are now showing.

I'm gonna go ahead, tho, so both STick and ReSTored can have new sound system.

I just spoke with someone at BoatersWorld. They could not give me an ETA on the JBL MBB-Mini Black Box Stereo System (stock #319142147).

She said it could be 2 weeks, 4 weeks...... She really couldn't say.

:(

Based on what Prospec Electronics told me, the radios should be hitting the Boatersworld dock next week, Prospec said they were shipping to Boatersworld this week.. I am assuming that Boatersworld will turn them around quickly.

Hello Gentlemen. After reading multiple posts about the JBL unit, I found a similar Jensen marine radio model MSR2007 at http://www.rocktheboataudio.com/html/35285.html. It is not only cheaper than the JBL but for $20.00 more I got the I-Pod interface cable and I have full control if my I-Pod at the radio's control head.

I mounted the amplifier unit in the left fairing pocket. It does not fit through the compartment door, but once you remove the fairing and the pocket itself, it fits nicely. I made cable cutouts in the front of the pocket. tie wrapped a rubber antenna inside the fairing (below the pocket) and opened some ventilation holes in the back of the pocket just so that the radio's heat sink could dissipate heat a little better. For power, I connected it to an existing 12v socket wiring I had installed earlier, but since it is not a switched connection, I have to take the in-line fuse out (under the seat) to save the battery.

The head unit was mounted on a self made aluminum bracket attached to the clutch reservoir's clamp bolts. I purchased a 3"x5"x1/4" thick aluminum plate ($2.79 w/tax) cut the shape to resemble the Braketron Goldwing mount. I drilled some holes, bent the plate at the base and polished the mounting bracket. To separate the bracket from the clamp, and clear the handlebar radius, I used two 1/4" s.s. connector (double) nuts drilled out to fit the 6mm socket head screws through them. The 5/16" nuts did not require drilling, but they looked out of place due to the larger size.

I am running my I-Pod off my tank bag, but with 20 ft. of additional wiring it could be run in other protected areas of the bike. As for speakers, I had ordered the speaker cases from David Silvers in the UK and installed regular (at the moment) 4" car speakers. The sound quality is certainly limited by the speakers, but I can listen to my music all the way up to 80 MPH.

This really makes the ST THE perfect bike!!!!

Jeff

I've received two more calls from Boaters World asking for a different payment method as my Pay Pal okie-dokie timed out several weeks ago. I won't update until assured that the unit is ready to ship.

In the meantime, I've ordered a second unit using my Discover card. Both still show as "back ordered."

Some pictures of the Jensen radio and installation.

Jeff, thanks for the pics. Looks good. Have a template for your mount plate?

I noticed 105.7 FM on yur display. In Vegas, that's the "Cool Jazz" station. I listen to it a lot. :D
