2025 WoodSToc 3 - Aug 14 - 17, 2025 - Kingsclear, NB

Cabins! My friend Brent, who was part of the festivities last summer, and who lives very near River Run Resort, tells me that there's been a crew working on cabin interiors every day lately, getting them ready for snowmobilers! So yes, we'll apparently have options beyond those delectable domes! There'll be room for an explosion of numbers of attendees!

So folks have a choice: be a Camper, a Cabinite or a Dome Dome.

Further to the above, if you're fortunate enough to have a copy of Max's, "These are a few of my favourite roads", dig it out and read the section on Newfoundland. If you don't have a copy, get one. And if you're sittin' on the fence about going, jump down, spin around, and go!

Had a look at River Run Resort yesterday, specifically the nicely finished cabin interiors. Four are complete, I'm told the fifth will be finished in plenty of time for our event. These have one bedroom with a queen bed, and a pull-out in the front room. Fridge, microwave, small oven if you'd like to bake cookies, and naturally a coffee maker. The last unit is a two bedroom, so if you find you have trouble falling asleep, try the other bed!
All the comforts of home, heat and air looked after by a mini-split. I'm waiting for rates and booking information, and will advise soon.

Rates: Cabins are $130. per night, and domes are $195. (plus tax)
Dome pictures can be seen on their website, as well as some booking info. http://riverrunresort.ca/index.html
I plan to ask regarding some details like cancellations, at what point are credit cards charged, etc., and will report!
Things are pretty quiet at the resort at this time of year, so don't expect a genie to come out of a bottle the moment you make a phone call!

When I booked our dome last year online, it said 50% due upon booking, but they processed the full shabang amount at that time.

For those wanting domes, they have (or at least had) a private deck out back, propane bbq, hot tub and pellet stove (on top of what cabins seem to have.) They also had fire pits and had a small stream / brook running right behind them. We all spent a few nights with adult sodas, telling jokes and stories around the caveman TV after a day's riding.

It's time for some accommodation details!
This year looks very positive! We're being offered both domes and cabins - there are three domes available, as well as 6 cabins. They're set aside for our WoodSToc event, so to reserve one for your very own, a phone call [506-461-8582] to Dena's cell, with credit card in hand, is the way forward! At this off-season time of year, she may have to return your call. She's agreed that with a credit card number, you'll have a personal hold which can be cancelled up until July 1st. After that date, you'll be charged even if you're a no-show. However, should you find yourself under the sod, or in some similar pitiful circumstances, an exception might be possible.
Domes are special indeed, and cabin interiors are brand spankin' new, so satisfaction guaranteed! Personally, I'm happy to report I'll be staying in a cabin at the resort, instead of having to buzz on home each night...
Rates: Domes - $195/night and cabins - $145/night.
