Where did you ride today?

My BMW Morton's door prize arrived at my door today. Can't hate free Road 6 GT's. :thumb:

It was a rare November day in far NE Illinois. It topped out at about 70 and the wind wasn't howling at 30 plus mph. So I played hooky. Called the boss said I need the day off and he agreed. Next I took my oldest to get his driving permit. After that I dropped him off at home and did crap around the house as I waited for the temp to get to the upper 50s. Then I headed out. Went out west then headed north for a favorite stretch of road. Route 67 between Eagle and Dousman WI. This is part of the Kettle Moraine Scenic Road. Nice hills, curves and scenery. Take 67 north out of Eagle follow the signs for the Kettle Moraine Scenic Road. It will turn off 67 to the right after 4 or 5 miles I think. Take the right. It will go onto a nice rural road with lots of turns and hills very fun but be careful as people tend to use your lane too at times. The road ends at county Road C. Turn left. Follow that back to 67 and turn left. Take back to Eagle, repeat. Lol. If you are in the area it's a great ride. I did 3 laps today. Hit 7000 miles for the year and got a good start on 8k.

Yesterday was a very nice day here as well with temps in the mid 70s F... except for the winds! Gusting between 25-30. But went out riding anyway since I needed to go shopping at Wally World. Decided to go to one farther away but still only put in just over 31 miles. Wind was a little bit of a factor this time. Explored a new to me road and found where the pavement ended and gravel began. I don't like riding on gravel so turned around and tried a different new to me road. This time of year I don't do many miles each ride but I try to get out anyway.

First post on "where did you ride today" for me. I'm completely new to the ST1300. I have a very shiny very black 2010 non abs with 358xx miles on it.
I live on the outskirts of a small city north of Boston.
Today I took the side road to Costco because I had seen that they are supposed to have the windshield wipers that my daughter on the other coast needs for her Crosstrek. When I got there I opened up the wiper app guide and the wipers stopped the year before her car. So noped out of there.
Came back to my home neighborhood and practiced some low speed turns at the soccer field parking lot.
At that point the weather was just getting beautiful so I headed for the small towns outside my little city, but no.
Stymied by schools letting out. There were large yellow vehicles all over my back roads.
So I headed back by a different route, made a stop at the store for some coffee supplies and headed home.
The ride home from the store was my first little shot of highway. I just went on at one exit and off the next. A mile or two staying in the right lane. It was 68 degrees at 3PM on a sunny week day, so I didn't go round the side-road way this time. Kinda cool the way it all rushed at me, I was carefully being a renewed biker, but at the same time it was exhilarating to get up to 75 if only for a moment.
The ST is a rock.
Our season will end with the first freeze when the roads are first sanded but I plan to ride til then. It could happen any week now. I'm going to really work on my low speed stuff. Never really bothered when I was a kid, in the 70's I had a Honda 500 twin that I bought new. I just got on the thing and rode. I'm a lot older and more serious now. Can't make errors, head on swivel, cautious yet smiling inside. The joy of riding IS there. I'm so happy to have bought this thing...

That’s my usual ride. Check out some of the Wisconsin Rustic Roads off of that route and
you’ll find yourself back at the left turn. As your coming back south on 67 take a right on ZZ and somehow figure your way home. You won’t be disappointed.

Went about 40 miles 1 way to pick up my NAPA order in the 25-50MPH winds. What an adventure. lol! :wind1::twist1:

Yea, it was gusty down my way too, luckily not to that level. I think as a newer road rider, probably about 25 mph is my limit for now, unless I get caught in it and have no other options. Took a little trip with my son to the river today. Question: What exactly is the product you refer to used for? Is this the molypaste for the rear splines?

Yeah, based on what I've read on here, it's one of the best options that are still available. I'm unsure if I'll get to the point of servicing the rear end this winter, but wanted it on hand in case I do. Bike was new to me this spring, but supposedly just had the tires replaced last year, so it shouldn't need serviced.

Went shopping today. The local grocery store was posting daily deals some weeks ago so you had to go that day or miss the deal. I'm guessing shoppers complained since that meant burning gas to save $1 on one or two items. So they changed it to 4 day deals. But again, if you don't go the first day the deal is offered they run out of it real quick. These days of inflation and supply chain problems!
Anyway. Only wanted one item on the current deal list so I went for a little ride. Just a little ride. The store is 1.8 miles from my home. 14.6 mostly country miles later I turned into my driveway. 16.4 miles. Like I said... a little ride. Temps starting to be cooler. Was around 49*F on this ride.

Looks like the leaves have just... been lost! Like around here. We are supposed to get up to 71 Wednesday but after that it's downhill for temps... maybe for the rest of this year.

Well I put her bed for the season. 24 mile jaunt to work where I store her. Temperature dropping. Suppose to frickn snow next week. Hopefully I will get her out by the Ides of March.

Take care of that new-to-you BMW. I hear... from a long time BMW owner who I used to work with... that BMW bikes tend to break easy when the temps go down. At least that was his reason to quit riding in the Winter time after years of doing cold riding 50 miles one way every day. Oh, and his BMW did break when the temps got cold and it took him 8 months before he finally decided to spend the money to fix/replace the ABS pump. Was a 1200rt. ;)

Mine will be tucked away in a heated area at work. I will be able to gaze upon it every day at work. Might even sit on it and dream of the next riding season.

A couple questions. What is this season you mention? What is snow? (and work?)

I saw 90 on the bike readout riding home Monday. It was sitting on 86 to 88 for around 5 hours. Now if you want to discuss monkey butt powder...
