What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Fired her up on Friday, well tried to fire her up, but not much joy with a dead battery, got a new one in Landsberg only for it to start raining. But I managed to get a short ride over the tops yesterday and today we went on a run to Augsburg. It got a tad nippy but all in all a fun little ride.

Finished converting the LED display and dials today to look exactly how the guys in the Netherlands did ( see Peter Meijer on You Tube ) and wow they sure look the dogs b******s on.

Changed stock mufflers fo Delkavic yesterday. Can't wait to hear them. Getting options done for Daytona bike week. 21 days to go.
Quite a weight difference, weighed one of each.
Stock. 12.76 lbs
Delkavic. 6.15 lbs

Fired her up today, top up the tires as they dropped down 10 psi.
Battery seems good, but I think it's 7 or 8 years old, gonna source out a new one.
Riding season opens up in a week or 2, might throw in my yearly oil change next week

I ordered brake pads, muffler clamps, middle rear caliper piston for the 06A. Cleaned and flushed the clutch master cylinder.

Was in the garage n fired up the ST. Dam white stuff on the ground still.
Let it warm up til for 10 mins or so. Enough time have couple of beverages.
Next week will be fork upgrade n shock replacement.

Replaced the original turn signal relay for incandescent bulbs with the one compatible for LED from SuperBrigntLEDs. Plug&Play and works well.D87062AC-D1CF-466F-ABA8-9449A737C667.jpeg
how did you like it afterwards? I tried an led in my front blinker and it wasn't that much brighter for the money and made the blinking twice as fast

Went to my kids highschool parking lot after hours and practiced u-turning. Getting better at it, but not as good as the pros yet.

Also testing new Sena Prism Tube WiFi helmet cam.

Looks a great set up. What’s the name of the heads up display you are using?

Quality and performance of LED bulbs vary greatly. My concern is getting one as bright as factory bulbs and not brighter than. As I like the appearance of them as well as performance finding a LED bulb that illuminates the whole of the lens (like the factory bulb) and not just a "hot spot" is a challenge.

LEDs don't present the load needed to trigger the flasher relay to function at the original rate. It seems the most common method to restore the normal blink rate is wire in a 6ohm 50W resistor with each LED.

A much better method is to use replace the factory flasher relay with one designed to be used with LEDs. Available from Amazon to SuperbriteLEDs they're a cheap and far more elegant fix.

Rode to work on Tuesday, the clock reset itself while parked. It was icey Wendnesday so I drove the truck and did a 360 on the way to work. I picked up a new battery after work and rode into work today. The salesman at Batteries Plus said that battery life expectancy is decreasing because of all the recycled lead being used. He also did not recommend a LiPo if I am running heated gear and extra lights. He said the LiPo would not hold up to the extra draw. Curious if those running extra electrical farkles and a LiPo have had that experience?

Yeaaaaay, first time for a long time can contribute to this thread. Essential journey today to a Garden Centre to get candles (carrying my reliable pillion passenger - wife),

and as this particular Garden centre was close to my work depot, popped in to see the other love of my life (not the boss I hasten to add).

She's looking forward to a week Monday when we will be together again and out on the road. That's the Coach.... not the wife, although she also loves being out on the road

My best mate and long time riding partner fulfilled his mid-life crisis ambitions today and picked up a brand new Kawasaki Z-H2 supercharged naked. In the flesh this thing is gorgeous and very special. I picked him up at 6am and we rode the 225km to Rotorua to collect the bike. It was a reasonably swift run there, and pretty exciting as my friend is no lightweight and I'm not so tall, so mounts and dismounts were challenging and a touch worrying.

I was expecting a swift and enjoyable ride home but that was not to be...who knew that a brand new 206 bhp Z-H2 is rev-limited to 4000 rpm or 90km/hr in top gear for the first 350km! We got passed by logging trucks on the way home. On a brighter note, I can report the fuel consumption of the ST1300 is pretty stellar when running at those low speeds!
