What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Well it was a relatively big day in the garage yesterday. After mounting the twin Fiamm highway blasters, I found the lower left wrapper had interference wth the horn so mcgyvered a solution with an additional L bracket to move it up out of the way. Man, those babies are much louder! Then mounted the Givi adapter plate & box that I had modded with the Admore LEDs,, tested my wiring and there is a lot of light back there now. Next I guess I have to drill a hole in the rear cowl to pass the cable throught to the box connection so off to the store to look for a suitable rubber grommet.

I was gonna put it together then suddenly, I almost bought a Harley, god what was I thinking, I've never even sat on one.. but.. an 06 on CL Electraglide.. it rolls off the tongue.. hmm... anyway, 55 thousand, everything, and I mean everything... for... 14.5 nice color too, new custom seat...

Put the last piece of Tupperware on the bike after the 300,000 mile refresh. Water pump, tensioner, idler roller, timing belt, all new water, air, vacuum and fuel hoses, both coils, valve adjustment (first time on bike. Four were off), synced carbs, output shaft seal, cleaned and painted swing arm, swing arm bearings, replaced rear final drive (worn teeth), new rear tire, new rear brakes, shimmed up worn side stand, new fuel filter, cleaned and dielectric grease on connectors and oil / filter change). Looks like my shifter seal is leaking. Looks like the rear case will need to be removed to fix this. Not sure if the engine can stay in the bike. May have to leak for another 5 years or so.

It will quit leaking,,,,when it's empty.

Do a search on the site. Seems to me someone here has changed this seal and if memory serves me correctly, they didnt have to take the motor out/apart

Great....I am looking for a GIVI top case and mounting plate. What model of case do you have and as there are a few different plates, is there a specific model of plate? Thanks.

Over the last few weeks, as time has allowed, I've cleaned up some wiring from the PO, adjusted the engine parameters of the Rostra cruise to smooth it out. Removed what appears to be a set of Throttlemeister throttle lock and bar end weights, and rebuilt the bar ends to stock. I had a spare throttle tube, so I used the ThottleTamer pattern posted here in the forums to grind my own "free" throttle tamer :) Installed some new grips, and topped them with some Grip Puppies, the combo feels great! Also added the LED brake light kit to the Givi 47L topbox, I upgraded from the smaller ~20L one that was already there.

I have 3 projects left for the riding season:
1. Sadly, I've noticed the left fork leaking, so I have the parts on order for a fork rebuild.
2. My preload adjuster turns ~23 clicks before it engages, so while the fork oil is flowing, I'll do the "adjuster rebuild" as well.
3. I bought an AWESOME set of halogen lights from @The Dan that I need to get mounted and wired in also. I'm also thinking hard about buying the fork lights that @spiderman302 recommended, as the light pattern looks great! I'd replace my existing fork lights and wire the yellow lights to come on with my low beams, and then the white beams and my new lights can be engaged anytime via the dual relay wiring kit I bought.

A (late) annual service, plus rebuilt the forks, stripped the brakes, and fitted stainless steel pistons (ooohh, shiny!). Just gotta finish refitting the calipers and bleed tomorrow.

Not my ST (I was on the VFR1200X) but I spotted this today on my customary visit to my favoured riverside motorcycle cafe. Loaded to the gunnels and
even had a coffee mug holder. Delkevic 'zorsts, fancy seat and wavy front brake discs (rotors).

How he didn't put the bike off-balance with that stuff piled high on the rear, I don't know.

Tinted windshield and deflector are unusual to see on a Pan. The LEDs on the mirrors are interesting.

I'm afraid I was still on the Crosstourer and haven't solved the electrical woes on my ST. The Viffer is too much fun and I'm too lazy! :(

I took the 1991 on a ride this morning, got back home before the temps became too hot. First ride on it in a few weeks.
I had noticed a few water drops on the garage floor post-ride a month back. Peeking through the plastic with a flashlight the source appeared to be the radiator cap seal. Let it cool, pulled the right side plastic and removed the cap....no problem, nothing wet. Replaced the cap and let it run while watching the area...no visible drips. Turned it off and just barely caught it, the short hose between the housing and radiator appeared wet at the housing exit. Removed the hose to clean the connections and look for splits and found I had not tightened the clamp, at all, during my maintenance. This condition had remained for 18 months with minimal leaking between the housing and hose. The leak was so small most had been evaporating away and had progressed to leaving two or three drops on the floor occasionally.
Sometimes dumb luck rides with us.

Put on a set of genmar risers. Only lost two of the little caps that sit in the bolts to the interior of the bike somewhere. Lifted the tank, shined a light everywhere I could, shook the bike.....they're gone. I swear that bike eats tiny finicky parts. However, the risers are on and looking forward to trying them out.

On a completed unrelated topic, anyone know where a person might source some bolt ca......tiny finicky parts......for a friend?

If you wait long enough most things will poop out what they eat. ;)
