It doesn't feel too much like a Wednesday in the freezin fog of Wooler, I need coffee and some'at tasty.
The Italian Dark Roast is ready and the Panettone is resplendent. Wednesday? Pffffffftttttt.
Here's a question for you, where do you find a bit of clear 8mm hose in Wooler on a Tuesday? You don't apparently but thankfully the garage boxes of aged storage revealed a 6" length that saved the day. I'll have to go through those boxes one day. But not today.
Oh no.
Some'ats or t'others will follow, there's plenty of them but they won't be taking place outside or in a sub zero garage.
Av a gud un and remember, if you work in DEI, well no one really works in DEI but you know what I mean. You need a new job. You might just enjoy not talking crap all day long.
Upt.

Thx Ray!

0˚c/32f, calm, sunny (for a few hours…), all a Dei gift they say. Thats Latin for ye..

Driving Mrs Stu to the doctor…she now has three more days to get better.

Would like a walk in this nice weather, but I’ve orders to clean MILs’ heatpump, pfffffft!

Have a good one!

Morning, everyone. Save me a cup, Ray. I can’t have any, until I get back from the hip surgery, probably early afternoon.

Ok, one question. Who ordered this 5F temperature, on the day I’m supposed to report to the hospital in pajamas?

John
Wishing you well, they do a ton of these so should be no big deal. Let us know what colors you're seeing when you get back. And no, Teddy can't actually talk.

G'Day...

thanks for the joe :coffee: , but I'll bail on baked goods containing candied orange peel... phew-spit-barf... (we've been there with that Britt' jelly already... )
Seen positively, will this refusal leave more for the others, who are enjoying such lucullic oddities...

-4°C/-1°C, if the overcast breaks maybe +8°C, but doesn't look like it...
(according to scientists the coldest recorded January of 2025... go figure...)

My take on various other developments...

Idiocracy.jpg

Like last night when pulling with my trusty Toyota into the safety of our sub-level garage...
That maze is dark, dim lit like a David Lynch movie, visibility drastically blocked everywhere by the massive concrete walls supporting the entire 6 stories complex above...
My use of the PASS button sadly fades unseen, as many drivers ignore that to begin with, instead cruise around there with no lights while looking down on their phone...
I even bought and installed a 30cm, convex traffic mirror on "my" junction so I can avoid any issues arising with someone approaching in stealth mode...

But, while keeping my eyes peeled for any vehicle in proximity, I frequently end up with pedestrians just inches away from my front bumper (or front wheel when on the ST), of course reacting totally enraged as they obviously see it as their birthright and prerogative to take a stroll right in the dead center of the lanes in that dark coalmine...
In the >20 years of residency there, I've seen it all, free-range children playing catch, others darting around on bicycles, even badminton and soccer matches take place, teenagers with a ghetto-blasters having red-bull/vodka/ecstasy parties (under influence they later then empty all fire extinguishers for the fun of it), etc, etc...

Folks, that's a garage, not a playground, not a courtyard, not a pedestrian zone, not a city park, you're not the "security" of your own living room either... this is for cars, only, and they weight about 1,5 tons each and take likely minimal damage when rolling right over you there, dressed in your monochrome, RAL9005, deep black outfit ...
I still recall my parents snapping at me "CAR!!!... STEP ASIDE!!!"...
Yep, walk at the far edge of the lanes, and you're totally out of any danger and conflict... pfffff...

So, that's my story of the day...

Have a good one!

Morning all, and thanks Ray, for the coffee. Good luck today John with the surgery!

It's a wee bit nippy here this morning. -25 with a windchill of -33. Both garage doors were frozen shut again this morning. Not where the sill rubber meets the concrete, but the actual door panel joints. Brrr Brrr McBrrry.

Not much else on the go today except trying to keep warm. High's today of -11/-18.

Hope all those travelling to lala land, Singapore, or nowhere in particular, all have a great day.

Morning, I would say good morning usually but been coughing since 12:30 am now 4:00 am and still coughing. Tea and a lot of honey hopefully slows it down. All the best John with surgery. If I get some sleep nothing needs doing so can sleep in.cheers G
There are lots of coughers at the moment.
Don't seem too bothered who they cough all over either.
Pffffffftttttt.

The wind is howling off the Gulf, whipping a bit of snow around and generally making a nuisence of itself. Not going out and grateful for the dark roast.
Temps today expecting to go from -13C/8.6F all the way up to -11C/12.2F with the optimistic forecaster expecting some sunny breaks inbetween the snow squalls.
Only fit for drinking coffee and editing video.

You might want to work on the Austrian Tourist Board information a little before it's published.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the French Roast and goodies, Ray!

Montrealers have awakened to a beautiful, clear, sunny day, but it's c-c-cold. Its currently -19°C/-2°F with a windchill of -24°C/-11°F, and the high will reach -12°C/10°F with a feels-like of -17°C1°F, but not until around 4 pm. I'll have to venture out in it briefly at around 12:30 to get my 1st shingles shot...I don't usually react badly to jabs, but a lot of people say they felt rather icky for a bit after this one, so I'm resigned to possibly feeling like a bag of poo for the next day or two. Might not happen, who knows? This, too, shall pass.

John, I'll add my good wishes to everyone else's for a successful surgery. Check in when you can and let us know how you're doing. Take good care of him, Teddy.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray

It's sunny and -2f/-19c here in MA this morning, rising to 20f/-6c, later.

I did nothing, yesterday, and with that temp, I might just do it again.
Brenda cooked our first dinner in the new kitchen, and was talking with our kids about a visit, maybe this weekend.

I got a call from the dealer, where I'm having the Wing stored for the winter, asking if I'd like them to perform the latest recall while it's in storage. They'll do that, and put it back into storage. Win-win for us. I won't need to worry about taking the Wing out of service in the spring, and they get a few Honda bucks for the recall.

John, good luck with the surgery.

Have a great day,
Steve

Normally all my shot are a non issue. My first shingles one knocked me down for a couple of days. Made me rethink the 2nd one, but I did get it. When I spoke to the pharmacist, they said is was due to a few reasons: The needle used is larger; compared to flu, covid etc, there's a larger volume given, and it's cold. Hopefully, it'll be a non-issue for you.

Good morning all!
Thanks for the hot start Ray!

John, all the best today! Don’t let it get infected!

We’re in Ridge Manor near Brooksville FL.
45/59 F are todays numbers, that North wind is brutal!

Safe travels Keith!

Hope that cleanup job goes well for you SToo!

Here’s a little screenshot humour to get you started on your day!

Good luck fella, you'll need it. Who's a good boy. Remember, the gown ties at the back. Close your eyes Patts, it's gonna get ugly.

Thanks for the dark roast Ray! Could I have a double please? It be right nippy here at -14F (-26C). There doesn't appear to be much of a breeze, thank goodness. Last night when I finally made it home around midnight it was -6F. The thin layer of snow in my gravel driveway cracked, creaked and squeaked very loudly as I stumbled QUICKLY to the door!
Today will entail putting away the treasures acquired yesterday, a quick trip to the store for a couple ingredients needed for today's cooking and some indoor straightening up.
Be safe, be careful and watch for frostbite!
Scott
