That's OK Shuey, there may be others that may want to split a room.

I'll ride over Monday after work, get a room and attend Tuesday funeral.

I've also added the services info on the home page.

Note:
Please do not come by the house in Casey. Losing Terry is huge for most of us that had him in our lives, imagine the hole this has left for the family. Please respect their privacy during this tough time. When it's time they will let us know if they need anything.

Rich leaves for AZ tomorrow to pick up a van for my boss, and I can't get out of work, so please pass on are sympathys to the family for us.

There are some who visit this site, some who post, and some who make the site what it is. Terry was one of the latter. The outpouring of sadness and sympathy seen upon the news of his passing is testimony to the number of lives he touched in this community.
Our friend has gone, but he lives on in each of you who knew him personally or through this site.
Rest in peace Terry.
Mike

I am heading south fom Chicago tonight. Plan to work some from hotel wifi on Monday and I will then be at the visitation. I will be staying through the service on Tuesday.

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

Me, Terry and 2 others around a fire at a campground on the BRP. He let me sit on his ST and told the "kid" story. That made me start looking at bikes more suited to LD riding than my cruiser. 4 years later I made the connection that it was ACL that I had met. Felt like knowing royalty.

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

I was at the first annual Jack Pine Savage Memorial in Galena when these two guys approached me. One was a big fellow, making his comrade look of gnome stature. They both came up and asked if I was Papa, extended their hands, and that was the first time I met Terry and Putt.

Me too! It was my very first RTE,and first time meeting ANYONE from ST-O...
As a I sat nervously in line for the ski lift, (they had a cement slide thingee there) figuring I would just ride up alone ... Terry says "Come on rich, you can ride up with us..." it was a beautiful day! Sure wish I had taken pics!...

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

Going after the Illinois Tag at that little tavern on river.

Meeting for a Moon Burger, multiple times this year. Including introducing him and Mike 970, also Monday After Moonshine (a Terry tradition), and post-Moonshine last summer, and, and, well ya get the idea. (I think I've had about a dozen this year alone!)

Moonshine 7-8-9-10

Swapping Danny's motor in the shop (and sleeping in the family room four nights

Being seen by but not seeing Terry on highway 49 north of town as I was passing thru before Moonshine last spring.

Riding home from EaSTOC with Terry and Landon over Tower Hill in south KY a couple years ago.

NatSTOC, both last year and this year (thanks for the ice cream, Terry.)

PuttSTOC

Leaving my oil cap in a defunct gas station in Marshall, IL acouple years ago, calling Terry for help, "I'm in Terre Haute, I'll pick it up on the way home." Finding the shop open with no one home the following week, oil cap and new Moon Shine sticker setting on the work bench.

PoSTing Moon Shine stickers at likely places ALL OVER the country.

Handing Aeryn up to him for the 50/50 drawing at Moonshine Store last spring.

Receiving the (totally unexpected and yet unexplained) Moonshine Regents plaque.

I will be riding over in the morning too. I've also booked a room for Monday night @ the Super8 in Marshall.

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

I think most people at the MLR probably heard Terry say at one time or another "Jody said it was a bad idea and he was right". It was never about being right and it really wasn't a bad idea. It was really about the timing. In 2006, Terry was swamped and staying up late organizing everything. I started doing the web page to automate and make life a little easier for him. I don't know how many times my phone would ring and Terry would say "Jody, What do you think about......?". Terry wasn't happy unless he was giving and making someone else happy. He always was finding a way to do more for people coming to Moonshine.

As the Bible tells us to give, Terry got it!

I'll be there before dinner time tomorrow afternoon. Deba is leaving about noon to head back to Kingman, I'll leave here about the same time.

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

I'm not much of a crier. When I interviewed Terry at Richards Farm Restaurant he got so emotional about Moonshine he was repeatedly overcome. It was just such an honest expression of human feeling. As we were finishing up, I had tears welling up and he laughed. He told me, "Bones, I know you get it" and gave me a bear hug. He had placed his trust in me to tell the Moonshine story. It was a powerful moment. Terry told me Moonshine was about trust.

After that interview, He came right up to me and said with a smile, "He gets it!"
