ST1300 Turns over but does not start

SpeedSupplies worked well for me. The ground wire repair kit was installed by my alarm electrician at the same time he repaired my broken air horn (Stebel). Seems to be working well.

Hi Guys,

I'm from Singapore and I currently looking for this part : 32101-MCS-305 GRD Joint Repair Kit. Is there any other shops in US sells this part other than SpeedSupplies? I've heard bad reviews from SpeedSupplies and I won't not wanna take to risk to order from them...

Cheers,
Jeff

Success.

Thanks to your invaluable help, I've found the problem. More like you found it for me. Many thanks.

Because I had a lot of work this week, repairs were left pending. Today I followed the most recommended: The common ground connector:

I have spent some time searching for solutions to my problem of non starting 1300 no F1 lamp and no Fuel Pump noise although the starer motor does crank

I have checked loads of fuses and the relays

I also checked the 3 way plug near the Fuel pump and this does not get any power to the outside pair of wires

It seems as if I need to take the same drastic step as yourself and go for the earthing problem

But

Mine has been done I now it has as I took the bike to the STealer with the recall notice

Because mine has been done does this mean that the earthing is in a different place or just perhaps so called made off better

Many thanks

Peter

Did you check the bar fuse on top of the battery. If the fi light is out and it will still crank this may be your problem. Mine had the same problem and was traced to this fuse. I checked every fuse on the bike except this one and had to tow the bike home only to find this was the problem.

I have double checked that fuse and its OK

AS a last resort I have placed a heater in the garage as it sure has been cold around these parts but I am not expecting that to work

So after after a day away up north working tomorrow I am going to take it to a STealer on Wednesday or Thursday

Perhaps they will have more ideas

The very nice man at he garage found the fault

He traced it back to a wire that feeds underneath the fuse block on the left of the bike

I'm happily riding my bike again. I added an additional ground cable from the darkened corner cable which was the culprit. Geting a honda dealer here to actually hand me the repair kit or even do the job of replacing it is utopian. I might later get the kit and replace when i go in there for some other reason. Thanks again for your help. Hope this thread will be useful to others in future.
