That's why I opted for a Turbo City rack instead of a top box; more carrying capacity and configurations.

I had a Givi E450 top box, but just ordered a Turbo Tom rack. I found that I couldn't get tent, bags, pads, clothes, and both of us on the bike without looking like the Berverly Hillbillys. I have a large waterproof bag for the rack that will have the camping gear and the paniers and tank bag will handle the clothes.
For one up camping I will probably go back to the Givi for a more streamlined look (being a sporty kind of guy).

That's why I got the rack too. I also use a large waterproof bag for my tent, sleeping bag and air mat. Fits nicely and looks clean. And I got it in Byron-Hi-Viz yellow. LOL :crackup

This is at Fort Mountain S.P. in Georgia. Part of a two week trip to Moonshine and points beyond. April 09.SANY1147 (Medium).JPG

This is how my bike looked for a one nighter at Loc Stoc & Barrell last month in Spring Green. In front of the Givi 52 trunk is a 4 man tent. My daughter rode with me and thought the tent was comfortable to sit against. In the Givi we had a big duffle bag full of clothes and toiletries, two small pillows and two pairs of shoes. In the side bags a compression bag with towels and her clothes, and three thin sleeping bags (one to use as a pad.) In the tank bag various misc.

I want to get some bungee buddies and put them on the trunk so I can haul some thermarest pads next trip.

That's impressive, Michelle. You got two women plus all their camping gear on one bike? I'm in awe. LOL

Taken this morning. The ride in to work I felt she is too top heavy and right heavy. SO If I move the beer down into the left pannier it should even out.

Going camping/skydiving this weekend in Lebanon, ME

What you see is a tent, ground mat, bag, and camp chair on the far side. Beer is in the tank bag, but not for much longer.

Had to buy a new tent this year, and decided to get one I could stand up in. Found what I needed, not too heavy, five-sided tent. Next problem... how to load it on the bike. In the original bag, if I put it on the rear seat, I can't see anything but tent bag in the rear-view mirrors.

A stroke of genius in the middle of the night suggested rolling the tent smaller and stuffing it in the collapsible cooler, killling two birds with one stone by providing a place to keep the beer cold once at the campground. Tried it... it works, with room to spare for rain gear!

So: ST has air mattress, sleeping bags, pillows and microfibre towles in the black leather bag, tent and rain gear in the grey cooler, with poles secured vertically between the two. Cnadian flag added to make it look pretty!

The butane stove and bag of cooking/eating stuff on the V-star rack.

Both bikes have riders' clothes in the right bag, cameras, liquids, first aid, tools, sweaters, caps, etc. in the left bags.

Love the Northern Cascades! Rode from Vancouver to Winthrop, on to Calgary and back to Omak, Grand Coulee and other locations before back to Vancouver on Hwy 20. Great roads, little traffic!

Currently trying to redo the packing setup so I'll be able to wear the camelback. Currently with a Boundary Waters Bag on the back seat (along with Honda topbox) it is impossible to carry a camelback because it butts up right against the bag on the back seat, making the riding position uncomfortable. Toying with the idea of taking the topbox off, putting everything I've got in the topbox into a drysack. Don't know if it will help the issue. We'll see. Anyone else having problems with backseat luggage/camelbak/riding position?

Do you have a tankbag? If not, you could get one and put the Camelback reservoir in it with the drinking tube within easy reach...... or wear it backwards.....

Picture of the oldest granddaughter at campsite in Black Hills, Yellowstone, and loaded bike at a stop along the way. Looked like the Beverly Hillbillys, but bike handled well and the multivex mirrors made rear vision acceptable. Our clothes are in the panniers, tent-sleeping bags-thermarests are in the big bag on rack, cold weather gear-electric liners-street shoes-misc gear in second bag, wet weather gear-first aid kit-tools-paperwork in tank bag, cell phones and chargers in fairing boxes.
