Sadlsor goes x-country on the GS Adventure

Gee. I though this was about mark.

Any way I tried to meet him since he was passing through my back yard to get his bike.
He flew into Burbank airport and was going to take an uber to the camp.
Since I was only 30 minutes away I drove over and picked him up and took him to camp so that we could talk on the way.
I got him to camp and got to see his bike, I gave him a 4 pack of starbucks coffee on behalf of the coffee club.
I also gave him four beers from me for each of his days at camp.
We had a good visit.

Are you guys discussing the Canadian equivalent of Social Security?
We are talking the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) which is funded by employee/employers.

I think our Old Age Security (OAS) is analgous to your Social Security

If you or anyone you know are in the dire straits of needing someone to ride your bike back to your home, I can also offer my assistance and of course will donate (free) my time to take those classes. Feel free to pass on my offer to others, of course I will do this work inexpensive. Think of me as a humanitarian assistant.
I know it can be difficult to make a long fun filled ride across the US and would want to protect you from this personally trying time and imposition on you.
If you pass on the offer I can totally understand and wish you a safe trip with many miles of fun connecting with the new to you motorcycle. Bugs in the teeth and all that!

Kudos to @spiderman302 for getting @Sadlsor safe and sound to where he needs to be!

He might not be camping, but I know a happy camper when I see one!

Yes I strongly agree that he should take his more northern route as riding along the boarder might not be a good idea given the mass influx of southern tourist......

Main issue is riding after dark. HWY 40 is no better, possibly worse with four-legged creatures, especially now during rut. Also, weather there this time of the year can turn on you in no time, although it looks good for the following days right now.

Haven't found much impact from "tourism" while driving in the border area recently.

And NM is not exactly the best State to be on two wheels either.

Honestly though, if we are to be afraid of the dark, deer, drunk drivers.... why ride at all lol

I get it, there are times to avoid riding, I avoid big cities on Fri/Sat evenings and early mornings if possible.. as for deer, I've seen them cross my path noon on a summer day and have done a lot of hill country and big bend riding where I don't see many but my eyes feel like the size of oranges on the look-out lol

I don't see any aux lights on his new bike which is something I would require for night time riding in that part of TX.

See, my offer is a boost for safety. I consider myself a expert at riding in the dark since I have spent most of my life in the dark and refuse to go into the light.
The thing to watch for are drunk deer. I may save you from a confrontation with one.
Honestly though ride safe and do watch out for deer as they are one of the most dangerous things on the road. I have had close call with them, it is amazing how big they get the closer you get to them.
