Portable jump starter

It looks like the Antigravity XP-10/XP-1/XP-3 MICRO-STARTS are sold out. The first two now have a Gen 2 at the same price as the OG. There doesn't appear to be an XP-3 upgrade yet or maybe not at all. It may be available as NOS on some retailer's shelf.

I think an XP-x and their motorcycle clampless harness (16") is the way to go for me. One thing I haven't seen is a cover for the harness connector. Somebody probably makes one though duct tape or painters tape would work.

As a follow up .... I have decided on the Noco GB20 jumper, along with 2 of the GBC007 boost eyelets, one for my DCT and one for her X Max scooter and 2 of their Genius 1 battery tenders. Total will be about $ 190 for all

BTW I contacted them thru their ask a question on their webpage with some questions, and they got back to me within an hour which was really impressive.

Thanks for contacting NOCO Support.

Yes, you can use that setup. The GB20 will work for any gas engine up to 4L. The GBC007 will directly connect to the GB20 and then with the included adapter, it will connect to the GENIUS1 for battery charging.

Thanks all for the information, experience and advice. Can always count on the ST forum for good info when trying to make a decision.

To confuse you even more.... since you are conserned about being able to jump start....
There are batteries that have the jump pack built in... dont have any names handy.

Zero gravity batteries have a button that accesses a reserve portion of the battery, I have no experience using that feature although I have a zero gravity battery.

You already had the battery tenders and the wiring harnesses for them installed on your two bikes. I am curious to know if there is a reason why you didn't just buy the two Noco booster harnesses that connect to the battery along with the Noco booster pack and keep/use your existing battery tenders and harnesses rather then buying new ones.

Yea I just didn't want additional things bolted to the battery posts. Since I have to remove the battery posts anyway to install the Noco harnesses, I figured I'd just eliminate the battery tender jr harnesses and leave the battery posts with 2 attachments rather than 3.

Noco GB20
Dunno running my two kits (one is in my GF's car, just in case) since '22 now... that lithium-ion battery doesn't show any signs of deterioration yet...
bike, car, company van, gasoline, diesel...manual or automatic starter function, doesn't matter, it'll crank them, several times if needed...
I recently even boosted a bike with a LiFePO4 battery by using the bypass function of the GB20... no issues...

Noco also offers a nice case for their jump starters, convenient when they fly around in the trunk or rear foot-well for unknown time before needed again...

Can't argue with a clean setup. It's only money. Not to be overly glib but a few miles down the road and the cost is in your rearview. You're reminded of the clean setup every time you plug in. Well done you.

Thanks, all ordered, just waiting for it to get here.

I contacted Antigravity Support about the XP-3 Micro Start and its model/line has been discontinued and there will be no replacement. The XP-1 Gen 2 is “smallest model currently.” It’s a tad pricier but— it’s only money.

I would have gone with that one, had they had the pigtails that attach to the battery available. As I said earlier I am not a fabricator and even cobbling up some pigtails for it would have been beyond my capabilities and getting to the batteries on the NC and particularly the XMax require gymnastics to get plastic off, again something that I am not real good at. I'm just a rider, not a mechanic. As it is, I will seek assistance from my brother or a friend to get the Noco pigtails attached to my batteries and route/ hanging out someplace on the bike.

As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I realized I will still need the Battery Tender Pigtail to remain attached to the NC to power my heated jacket liner which I use about 4 months a year here in Ohio. So, the NC will have to have the factory battery eyelets, the battery tender jr eyelets and the Noco eyelets all attached to the battery posts. Rats. I was hoping for a cleaner set up. They never make it easy.

That is the reason why earlier in this thread I asked why you didn't just buy the two Noco booster harnesses that connect to the battery along with the Noco booster pack and keep/use your existing battery tenders and harnesses rather then buying new ones. You had written that you used the same Tender harness for your heated gear, which is a capability that I assumed you wished to retain.

Yes and you were right Andrew I just didnt think it through enough. Probably $60 I didnt need to spend. For some reason I was just thinking get everything new and all made by one manufacturer.

This is what I carry on my bike. It'll start a 5.5L Diesel or 7L Gas.
It does look to use a standard EC5 connector the clamp assembly. It wouldn't be to difficult to cut the clamps and put one on the pair of leads. I can't do that with my current jumper because of the proprietary connector used.

Got pigtail installed this morning. Took about 30 mins.

Booster on left, charger/maintainer in the middle, and pigtail on right

Drilled a hole in a plastic battery access panel for the cables that run to the battery.

Notice I left my battery tender jr SAE pigtail attached to run my heated jacket liner in the winter.( thanks for the reminder Andrew)

Stores neatly in the frunk when not being used, and readily accessible if needed out on the road

Once I charge the booster, it's ready to be jumped if the battery ever lets me down out on the road.

Hope I never have to use it lol
