Old Enough To Remember?

Worse...
- here's granny packing the suitcases
- here the suitcases fully packed in the hallway
- here is gramps hauling the suitcases out
- here the suitcases standing aside the car
- here gramps is loading them into the trunk
- here is the full trunk
- here is the loaded car ready to drive
- ....
<kill me now!>
Lol.

Reminds me at those family slide shows; attending mandatory...
a big happening, everyone had to clear the table and help rearrange the entire furniture...
then gramps came with the telescopic stand, unrolled the canvas, erected the stand and took like forever to adjust that projector...
and then he always showed e v e r y s i n g l e e x p o s u r e of those rolls... pffffft...

My FIL was a decent photographer and did a mix of film and slides, mostly slides when on vacation.

His slide shows were the stereotypical brutal agony everyone hears about or has experienced.. Please, God........ take me now.

Every single slide had to be explained in detail, where they were, the names of people they were with, the name of the waiter in Switzerland (Hi Gustave.......... ) etc.etc........... The worse thing when going through the first carousel of 144 was seeing another 2 stacked up and waiting to go.

We did a slide show a while ago. I gave the remote to my girls and told them to click through the slides as fast or as slow they wished and we'll fill in the blanks with background info if they want. We went through 5 or 6 carousels at a pretty good rate.

I still use one of the GE versions. They have been quite reliable.....functional life seems to be near 20 years. The downside is that local radio offerings really su....., bites the big......sorry.... isn't as entertaining as it used to be.
