NT1100 coming to the US, kind of

Seems strange that they would they reduce the suspension travel on the police version. You would think that more travel would be better for police service.

Police only- to bad. This is one of the few newer motorcycles for which photos of it stirred at least some interest in me. I would have gone to look at one and taken it for a test ride if they were available here.

Price is a pro as it is just a little over half the price of a BMW RTP. However the BMW comes with all the emergency equipment standard. So add at least $3K or more to the price. Storage is pathetic! Engine guards and pannier guards look as sturdy as a toothpick. I'm pretty sure Honda didn't get any input from any motor officers here in the states on how to rig this motor. Sorry Honda but this is going to be a failure.

This may be just the start for importing it..... not that I want one anyway... Nothing wrong with the suspension travel, who needs adventure suspension travel. ST only had F4.3/R4.8 and was heavy. FJR suspension travel 5.3". The NT still kept 32.3" seat height and 6.8" ground clearance.

I wasn't suggesting that it was insufficient. I just wonder what the reason behind reducing it is. I saw that the ground clearance is pretty good and I just figured that greater travel would be an added benefit when the need arises to jump curbs or sidewalks, and since it was already there ...... On the other hand, the suspension is probably a very different set-up for the police version.

Is the suspension range lower with the seat height the same or is there a drop in seat height corresponding with suspension drop?

Recently turned 73 years old.
Almost 200 lbs lighter than my ST1300PA this would/could be a great next motorcycle.

I fail to see the "low maintenance" aspect of it when it is chain driven. Panniers look small too. I could see the benefits of a tighter, more maneuverable bike like escort duty, but I don't think that is what they are mostly used for here in the States. Even at that price point, it's a tough sell.

Police only. Chain drive. That's a pass for me. Not a bad looking bike.

I really wish Honda would revive the V65 Sabre. They could give it similar treatment or I'd add a windshield and soft luggage and be happy.

To my mind the most beautiful bike Honda ever made.

I'm not in the market for a bike but if Honda makes one I like — I could be. Will the ST be my last bike? I don't know.
