North America "WILD CARD" TAG

I'm sure theres a white horse somewhere in Colorado if you'd like to snag this tag. .
I wasn't posting with an ulterior motive. Rather, the horses you mentioned sounded interesting--so I used streetview, noticed they were bronze, and thought it worth letting you know before you endured DC traffic. :)

I understand, you actually saved me about a 2 hour round trip of traffic:) I'll ride west tomorrow and find one in the country:)

New: Non chain "Country Store" that's been open since before your parents were born. . . Or before you were born.

Open since 1929.

The gravel road I am parked on used to be the main road, which was replaced by RT 522. This is not too far south of Front Royal.

My parents were born in 1951 and 1954. I was born in 81:)

Old: an Independent country store, from before you were born.

This is the *current* building that houses the store at White's Ferry, the last surviving ferry service across the Potomac River. It began operation under charter from the MD State Assembly in 1782, and is still a private, family-owned and operated business to this day. That must put it in contention for consideration as among America's Oldest Continuously-operating Businesses, I would expect. Although I cannot find definite evidence as to how long there's been a store associated with the ferry proper, I'd be willing to bet it's been a while. (And more importantly for the purposes of this game, I've received blessing from the previous tag poster to use it. :) )

The three flood levels marked are from Hurricane Camille (1972), the winter of 1995/96 when we received a tremendous snowfall followed by a rapid warm-up, and the 1985 "Election Day" floods triggered by Hurricane Juan.

So now the new: a building bearing markings related to the IOOF, or Independent Order of Odd Fellows, once the largest fraternal organization in the country.

My great-grandfather was a member of his local lodge for many years, and I proudly own the engraved pocket watch they awarded him, after many years of service.
