New to ST1300 ownership-- learning quickly about FI light and issues.... HELP!

Fortunately, I have never had to do this. I thought I had read somewhere a method of recovering the fault codes that didn't involve bridging the two terminals in the diagnostic service check connector.

I can't find it now though, and my manual is the 2004 version which I use with suitable modifications for my 2009 model bike.

Am I mistaken - is the jumper lead still required ?

I thought the fault codes were always blinking at start up when active, and the jumper method "can"
be used to reset them, but not necessary it seems.
Start the engine without touching the throttle. (side stand down before you begin) Wait until the engine reaches operating temperature or when the fans come on. Shut the bike off with the red kill switch.
