I thought I recognized a Bambina. My dad had one when we lived in NZ. Two cylinder hot rod . He wasn't happy when I put a hood scoop on it.L\
Lol...well my wife has one rule....she doesn't care how many bikes I own as long as she can still fit her car in the garage...and she is doing her part by owning the smallest car possible...a 1968 Fiat 500....lol
Lol....hey do you get out riding much? Retired?I thought I recognized a Bambina. My dad had one when we lived in NZ. Two cylinder hot rod . He wasn't happy when I put a hood scoop on it.
To ride with Trevor you will probably need to attend a Friday Afternoon Safety Meeting. Vancouver Island has some great rides. No, still a wage slave. I actually try to commute on my ST as much as I can.
But if you ever want to go for a ride on the weekend I’m in. I’m relatively new to the island so would be happy to soak up some local knowledge re good roads.

Welcome to the forum Trev.Hi everyone,
Just bought a 2001 ST1100....
Here's the story....last year I bought a 1991 ST1100 with 140,000kms on it for $1900...it was in great shape. I have other bikes and I bought it to ride to Ontario from my home in British Columbia (4500kms) to leave it there (I'm from there) so I would have a bike to ride when visiting.
Now ST bikes have never really been on my radar as I'm more on the sport side and into classics. As a matter of fact I was know to make fun of my buddy's ST's....
I started out my 4500km journey having only rode the bike 200kms....on the first day I discovered the bike had a notched steering head bearing as the bike was wondering everywhere....I decided I would get used to it over the 6 days on the road...and I did...lol
The experience totally changed my view of these bikes....I was shocked at just how much I enjoyed it. Smooth, effortless all day comfort....but hey, I'm preaching to the choir
When I got to Ontario my cousin talked me into selling it to him and I flew home.
So when I got home I decided to sell my 2022 Suzuki GSXS1000GT that I had put 32,000kms on in 13 months and look for a VFR1200F....more sporty for me....found one....
Anyway sorry for the ramble....last Friday while having friends in the garage for beers I started talking about the 2001 ST I'd seen on market place that day....everyone agreed, I should buy it...lol...so the next day I did....
2001 1100 with 49,000kms (30,000 miles)....a huge list of goodies....Two Brothers exhaust, tank bra, 3 windshields, Corbin seat, Top case, all Honda insert bags, new Wilbers rear shock and
RaceTech fork springs,....the bike is mint.
So here I am....
Thanks...small world eh? Lol....a couple of buddies have the 1300....for me and I'm probably alone on this...I like the looks of the 1100 much better....feel the 1300 looks a little bulbous...hey feel free to come by for a Friday afternoon safety meetingWelcome to the forum Trev.
Lots of good info a great folks here.
I also live here in YYJ.
I had a 1990 ST1100 with 180,000 km on it a couple of years ago. It was a bit neglected, so I gave it a refresh with new tires, steering head bearings, fork oil and seals, and a rear shock upgrade, as well as the other usual stuff.
It ran really well, but then I got bitten by the ST1300 bug, so sold it and bought a 2004.
The difference is night and day.
They’re both great, just different. The 1300 obviously more modern with injection, aluminum frame, etc. and the power windshield is just fabulous.
I actually went to your house a few years ago with a buddy from the mainland who bought a GS1100E donor bike from you.
His restoration has been slow but very detailed and nearly complete.
Sending you a PM with a link to view the progress.
I also followed your cross country ride on FB with enthusiasm. It was great to see the photos and read daily reports from the road.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear it went well.
Congratulations on the new ride.
Looks like you scored a good one.
Enjoy.
Rob
