New G6 H4 with SHIELD is now availible - no glare no scatter.

Well, I've got one of the bails 'bent' on my test unit so that the LED portion fits as it should. The only problem with this solution is I think you would have to remove the headlight assembly to do a 'proper' job since you need to do some serious bending of the bail. And it would make going back to a regular bulb pretty difficult without removing the headlight assembly again. So I'm still :think1: since I have three of these to do. Also, I don't see the bail listed as a separate part on any parts diagrams that I have if you mess one up badly.

Will anyone tell me the shortcut to getting these headlights adapter rings?

I ordered G6 H4 bulbs direct from Cindy at Evitek. They shipped on April 1st. I still haven't received them. Tracking information still shows them in China. I paid $37.96. Do yourself a favor and order them from Amazon for $44. You will have them in a couple days with Amazon Prime.

Hi. I have a continual noise coming from the bulb area and suspect it's one of the fans. Tried the search function but didn't find any reference to this. Is it an easy fix or should i ignore it? Many thanks

Which bulb do you have? I have the Eviteks and only barely heard the fan when I first plugged them in. Now that every thing is back together, I can't hear them at all, even when the bike's off and I don't have my helmet on.

I can clearly hear my fans....on/off/on/off/on/off.... due to the modulator! :eek:4:

We know the wire clip that holds the bulb in is pushing against the fan housing. I wonder if that clip has bent the housing a little so the fan is smacking the housing.

So how is that pesky bail bending going UnclePhil?

Dean - Well, I know how it has to be bent now but I don't believe I can do it with the headlight on the bike (can't see to do it and can't get to it with pliers to do it). Still studying it though. If I can remove/install the bail with the headlight still on the bike, that might work. On the other hand, if I pull the headlight unit, I'd Dremel the slots for the regular H4s so I wouldn't have to cut the tabs off while I was at it.

I though you had a spare headlight with which to get the bend right? That's what I did, and then just swapped it into the bike's headlight.

Dean - That's the problem with the ABS models - working from 'above' is a royal pain especially if you have large hands.

Now, working from above on a ST1300 is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. remove windshield (four screws, four nuts - all easy to get to)
2. Pop off mirror covers
3. Remove Windshield cowl (6 pop rivets 4 screws - all easy to get to)
and if you need more room...
4. move instruments out of the way (6 screws- all easy to get to)

Bingo, headlights and all is right there! :D
