I have never elevated the bike above the lift, only use a bottle jack to stabilize the bike on three points if removing the front wheel or removing both front and rear wheels. The center stand and the bottle jack under the crankcase of the engine is a very small triangle... Usually have at least two straps on it.

So, if I understand you, you only use the center stand (plus a bottle jack for stability-not lift) and not a dedicated motorcycle jack like a Ranger?

That's correct! Have not found a need to jack it up higher than the lift can take it.
