Itchy Boots

If you're into aviation/paragliding...
I'm not recommending it. I'm content with my iPhone. (Ok I do have a couple of iPad minis and I might try one.) It's just what appears to be mounted on Noraly's bike. One comment stated it was given to her. Maybe it was donated because it was a discontinued model yet still functional. It's probably easy enough for her to ignore any features not needed or related to her needs.

In a video she said she didn't want to name the model and have people buy it in case it turned out to be a bad product. All she said was it's an Android tablet. It seems to be doing better than her bike. If/when it fails then we'll see what she replaces it with depending if it's out of pocket or a donation.

But unless she gets something new.....she never mentions it. You might see the logos but that's it.
I like that she doesn't actively hawk sponsor's products. She lists most of her kit but yeah in the videos it's only logos and there's no blatant product placement.

For being so intelligent, she does shine blonde sometimes. At the end of this last video, she says she likes to ride into town on moto-taxis so she doesn't have to put on her gear. I guess you don't get hurt in a crash as a pillion.:rofl1:

Yes, putting on all the gear can be tiresome. And she does it day after day. So far I've not given in to the temptation of riding w/o ATG, but I do envy kids on bikes in shorts. Until they fall off.

I guess you don't get hurt in a crash as a pillion.
I don't know that she's referring to ATGATT kit but maybe all her camera stuff. As it is millions of people all over the world ride without any protective gear but experience. ATGATT is fine but there's also balancing possibility vs probability. She seems to be doing OK.

That particular situation is probably the safest place to be on a motorcycle w/no gear... dirt roads, few if any cars/traffic and speeds that probably don't go much over 20mph... I probably would have just walked or taken my bike without gear, I doubt I'd want to get on the back of another bike.. lol

She made it sound like it was a motoUber. :D Given the runaround she got when trying to get to Immigration and Customs maybe she thought this was more expedient. But earlier when Dude said "leave your bike - ride with me" she declined. Me being a slight cynic - that was a wise move.

She was not wearing any gear at all, so I was referring to that. I'm not sure what she meant, specifically. But she doesn't go anywhere without camera(s).
I found it really "funny" that the rider she was riding with was probably the only local I saw wearing a helmet. And she was not.

I probably would have just walked or taken my bike without gear,

Exactly my thoughts. My judgement vs the unknown.

She's already accumulated millions of decisions I would have gone the other direction on... lol.. hard to believe she's done as much as she has.. I know there are lots of good people in the world, just not sure I'd go some of those places. Then again, it will allow her to be self sufficient for the rest of her life so good for her.

Agreed. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. As far a location selection, she isn't all that great at it. Too many nice places to go rather than risk your life (or worse) in others for no great benefit. She is most certainly independent though!

She is pretty adamant about NOT venturing out after dark, though -- no matter where she is.
Night time is for working, charging batteries, and sleeping.
No time to be a party girl, that's for sure.

Anybody else find it funny reading all the comments about no gear or climbing on another bike.......while we all sit here on our butt and she's out living life the way SHE wants to live?!?!?
She is an adult, with more traveling/working/RIDING experience in less than ideal conditions, than 95% of the people making the comments. I may not agree with everything she does.....but I'm not paying for her bike or gas or lodging, and I won't be hurting if/when she goes down.
I'm sure everybody here has their bathroom double-padded with safety bars all around since it's the most dangerous place in the house.
Live and let live FFS!!!!

When you are raised in a country where a majority of people don’t wear any safety gear at all when riding a bicycle you evaluate your risks on two wheels slightly differently than where the majority do wear all the gear for riding on two wheels.
Given the circumstances I would have probably done the same as she, hopping on the back of a taxi bike.
It’s a comfort zone.
It’s interesting for me when on public transit, be it taxi, bus or train, I never utilize a seat belt. Though I always wear one when I’m in a vehicle other than those just mentioned.
I will say, when watching the video, I did clock the no gear, questioned it, thought would I do the same? Ya, yes I would. That’s MY comfort zone, which may be different than others, and that’s OK in my books.

She deserves a LOT of credit. But, she also, with all of her experience, doesn't seem to be able to tighten a clamp on her auxiliary gas tank, right? Nobody is perfect! She makes her living by putting herself in the public eye. Her choice. She has to take the criticism with the compliments. I give her both.

Of course folks are free to ride however they want, I suppose. I was simply pointing out the irony. Ride into town with full gear, including neck brace. Then ride around town on the back of a bike with a stranger in a t-shirt and no helmet. But to each their own!

their bathroom... since it's the most dangerous place in the house.

err...huh ? Referring to fall hazard I guess. We install lots of grab bars in bathrooms these days. Not much padded floors and walls though.

I will say, when watching the video, I did clock the no gear, questioned it, thought would I do the same? Ya, yes I would.

I would also possibly / probably have gone for dinner, or whatever with less gear. Probably would have still worn a helmet though, and probably ridden myself.

Wonderful change of scenery!!! Nice clean streets and roads, no throngs of idle onlookers,.......but why do people doing roads like that think a 110hp bike is the right tool for the job???
