Itchy Boots

Noraly has ridden every kind of track, so a very experienced rider. God help you if you're trying to catch her in sand.

Noraly is having a ball riding the rally. Impressing the boys. :)

BTW, this may have been posted previously, but it’s the first I‘ve seen it (If you don’t speak Dutch, use YT and be sure to click on closed captioning):

Well, Africa's a wrap. I wonder where she is going next?
She has been bitten by the rally bug, I surmise, and her offroading has improved substantially. She has found the limitations of the lightweight (250cc), light-duty travel bikes, and while Savannah was ideal in most of the situations she wandered into, I'm guessing a middleweight, more ADV-focused than the previous machine. But with more power and more onboard fuel capacity, Noraly is still nearly a waif, so she won't be going full-on GS1250 Adventure.
KTM doesn't have much below the 790 or 890, but I could see her on that. (Am I "projecting" what I want?)
And actually, the BMW F650GS or its derivatives would be wholly suited to her travel style, but would not hold up in a true rally environment. I don't see her as a Dakar entrant yet, or Erzberg --- that would be too much of a shift in audience focus, in my opinion.
Not sure of her budget, obviously, but I do see her online presence coming on, and her store is growing, so with all her e-commerce efforts ramping up, maybe she can afford to go a little bigger in displacement and price.
The destination? I really don't know. She does not limit herself to our definition of civilization, that's for sure. And in the end, I can only speculate and opine, and Noraly will do exactly as she wishes. That's fine by me.
I'll be waiting, and watching my email for her next big announcement.

No one but Noraly knows, and she still has time to change her mind, too, based on borders. Russia would be interesting and diverse and scenic.
NO!
No, no, no, for the love of God, no!
Not a Ural, girl!

She really liked that KTM.....450
That one has my vote.
the bike will be registered in the Netherlands. She will want to either ride it out from there or have it shipped for a reasonable price.
she really liked the African continent.
I’m trying to google off-road motorcycle rally racing. To get some possible hints

She's adjusted her ride for each kind of adventure she's undertaken and upgraded as conditions dictated. It'll be interesting to see where she goes and what she intends to do when she gets there and what ride she'll choose for that adventure.

The Honda CB500X is always ready for adventure. It’s also ready to get you to work, and to offer a relaxing ride home at the end of a long day. Its 471cc twin-cylinder engine provides easy-to-access power and torque that’s perfect for a quick run to the store or to help you find the end of your favorite trail. Its got long-travel suspension and a tall windscreen. And new for 2021, our Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) now comes standard. It’s all designed to make this bike ready to handle tough conditions, rough roads, and years of exploring. The Honda CB500X is the everyday ride that’s built for so much more.

I submit to all, that "years of exploring" is not the same as "desert rallying", and this bike will fare little better than Savannah did.
If she pursues rallying as she implied recently, she will need a more suitable, purpose-built tool.
The CB500X or Y or Z just ain't it.
But, we'll all see how she goes.

If Itchy wants to really get serious this the Honda she needs

It’s painful to listen to these two twits for 10 minutes before Noraly comes on. The whole dynamic changes once she’s on screen and the video becomes enjoyable.
what we find out is she will need to airfreight her bike to the next location, costing her as much as a new bike, So a different Continent. Will she go back to Australia?
the bike will probably be a thumper in the 400cc mark with an aftermarket exhaust that she batted her eyes to get. It will be configured for mostly off road and needs to be easy for her to pick up if she tips over, and service intervals around the 10k kms. 17” front spoked wheel.
Versys 300…..BMW 300?
