"No clutch, no nothing..."

Those Zero-SR's have better range than the much-hated Harley-Davidson Livewire and cost about 1/2 as much. They also weigh significantly less.

Zero-S (223 miles city, 112 highway)

Is it just me?
I find nothing to excite me about electric motorbikes - not the "supposed" fuel savings (electricity has to come from SOMEwhere), not the "saving the environment" schtick, not the clutchless / shiftless "feature", not the range, not the looks. Although I read the acceleration can be amazing.
Not looking to start an argument, I'm speaking for me, just an old-fashioned, curmudgeonly, cynical old fart.
If YOU want one, or like them, I have no problem with that.
Don't argue with me!
And get off my lawn, dammit! :rofl1:
If you want to talk ridin'
I guess that would be okay

I have no interest in getting an electric bike but the days of motorcycles with gasoline internal combustion engines is coming to an end faster than we thought.

Not arguing, but I have a little experience.

We had an electric Vectrix scooter back in 2008.

It could easily out accelerate my ST1300 up to 60 mph but that was it's limit. It was great until the battery died, which it did with very little warning. It only lasted about two years until the battery would not take a charge. Vectrix was out of business so we sold it to "an enthusiast"!

My son's Model 3 Tesla also accelerates faster than any car I have driven and is fun to drive. The autopilot is uncannily good.

Man, y'all are surrounding me with Skynyrd lyrics today!
@Scarce it saddens me to have to agree with you.

Another interesting episode. They all are!

Regarding You Tube, it seems I've lost the running comments below the video, as well as anything the poster has written, in favor of simply a list of other videos.
Anyone know how I might get that stuff back? I checked 'settings' etc with no luck.

Here's another excellent Royal Enfield Himalayan channel. In this video upped this morning, the owner of the bike decides to test it in the snow and ice of backroads Ohio. Not surprisingly, the bike passes the test with flying colours, something you wouldn't even attempt on most other motorcycles as it'd be borderline insane.

These type of channels keep popping up on Youtube, from mostly experienced, older riders who know the exact purpose they have in mind when purchasing this bike. And their reviews are so much better than review channels with riders who have the bike for a few days or hours and then tell you what they like or don't like about the bike, which in the end doesn't matter at all because it might not have been a bike they'd ever consider buying for themselves anyway. Pointless, in other words.

A common refrain is that the bike is a lot of fun, and takes you places other bikes just can't. In this one, a Harley rider now in his 60's finds he has more fun bombing around the backroads and trails than he'll ever have eating up highway miles on a 'Hog'.

So, a big thumb's up from me for his channel and I'll keep looking around for others.
If you want to see snowy trails being ridden by others I can recommend the Revzilla Common Tread video in the link below.

No, it’s not just you. I feel exactly the same way.

Sort of like: how excited can I get about buying a new blender?

That's not snow. This is snow.

A Himalayan in India, going down narrow mountain snow-covered roads with chains on.

This was another good episode! How she keeps finding stuff is terrific. I really like the episode showcasing electric bikes as well as a very cool job. If I won a Lottery there'd definitely be an eBike in my garage. The idea of riding relatively noiselessly really intrigues me.

The Zero she rode had a range of about 174mi. That's enough for a day. Need more then take another bike. Get home put it on the charger. The only thing unexciting to me about ebikes is the sorter range. So I manage my expectations. But within that range I could have a blast.

she would have an easier time with police
I had to check in with the police every three months in Holland, I was in the midst of applying for dual citizenship... unfortunately, once confirmed I would need to serve in the army... I wasn't that keen at the time. It was the 70's and being Canadian, peace and love stuff, I was having no part of it.... The officers didn't like my lax attitude. ;)

Managing multiple citizenships is not that hard from my experience. We have UK, Canada and USA citizenship. With Brexit now official, I am thinking of applying for Irish citizenship through my grandparents. This would give us free access again to the EU. A little paperwork and then the cost and remembering to renew all those passports is payed back by all those easy border crossings.

But you do need to be careful about opening your wallet and revealing multiple passports.....

That.Was.Awesome, kiltman! I gotta say I don't think I've ever had that much Christmas spirit. The Dollar Store reference made me laugh. That girl is all in for Christmas spirit!
