Itchy Boots

Y'all missed one other "difference"
Her Itchy Boots buff, makeup?

BTW, I got an email from her saying the buffs are printed and on their way to her, so she’ll be shipping them out to us in a week or so. We got two.

Thanks for mentioning that. I just checked my email and got the same. I got 2 too. I'll use one to add a little panache to my N95. It'll be interesting to see how many followers show up in the buff. She might just break the IG.

The first time I saw her wear sunglasses.
I spoke to my parents about the flood. My mom and dad were dating at the time of the flood and were at a movie theatre in Dordrecht. It was a full moon that night and high tide. There was massive flooding in Dordrecht, My moms house was on higher ground and wasn't affected by the flood.
This flood was almost as bad as the one in the 13th century and that's where Kinderdijk got it's name. There were a number of windmills in that location where Noraly filmed. The Elizabeth flood happened and there was only one survivor a child in a basket. kinder is child hence KinderDijk.
We had a long conversation about the dijks this afternoon, it was good!

Edit: I forgot to mention that my dad started to sing a song my grandfather sang everytime there was a storm coming, and it was a song in reference to the storm at Kinderdijk....

Dang, I think I would feel vulnerable living in that flood zone.

I was in KinderDijk last May. It is quite fascinating to spend a couple of hours walking around to see the different types of windmills, actually going inside a couple, and the mini-museum and visitor's centre. There was construction going on at the time and it appeared to be a significant enlargement of the visitor's centre. Did you know you a windmill's blades can kill you?!?

As for the Dordrecht flood, one of the museums (I think it was at the Deltaport) I visited had a immersive exhibit about that. The lighting, background sounds, narration, props, etc. were very effective in conveying the severity of the storm and the tragic impact. It was a fascinating backstory to the massive flood protection measures now in place.

I remember the Rev'It interview. Too bad they couldn't pop for an extra mic.

The one she did with the Missendenflyer was far better
I'm not sure if that's the other one I saw - where it was a Skyp type instead of the 2 together in the same room - but it was much better in content and tech. Regardless Noraly gives a great interview.

Regardless Noraly gives a great interview.

I found the Rev'It interview to be the least compelling or interesting thing with Noraly in it that I have seen to date. Maybe because I have seen everything she has put out so there was nothing new, at least in the first 10 minutes which was all I waded through. Maybe it was because there was no riding, no scenery, no chance encounters. Maybe it was because Noraly is so good at editing and selecting her material, of which there are hours that end up on the virtual cutting room floor for every minute she seems worth sharing.

Whatever the reason, I gave up about ten minutes in and spent my time doing something else.

Baldy.....of ADVrider infamy....is doing a live interview with IB today at 2pm EST.
On YouTube.
Looks to be a live chat....maybe ask her a question or 2.

Thanks for the link. That was a great interview. I liked hearing Baldy's anecdotes but he didn't make the interview about him which I really like.

"Noraly tell us about your background. You're pretty light on specifics. You're in the Netherlands..."

"Yeah I grew up here studied here and then pretty much left." :rofl1:

Thanks caldercay for the link. ( found it very informative) On one of my rides the other day I thought how wonderful it would be to ride with her for a bit and then thought the better of it as she appears to want to ride alone with no constraints which would make sense. Low and behold in this interview that is her desire!
I saw her calculating what her future travel timeline would be and her heart sank with the prospect of postponement and that it would take too long to get to Alaska. Some tough decisions lie ahead for her. We may also see less videos :(
I'll take what I can get.

^^^^ What the Kiltman said. ^^^^

I suspect that when Ms Schoenmaker travels in the good ole US of A, she’ll have to deal with a lot of folks wanting to ride for at least a little ways with her. My guess is that she will handle that just fine though. JMO of course...
