It is time...

Also note to observe the chain on the top when checking slack on the bottom. The top shouldn't move (straighten up) when checking the bottom slack, measurement should be taken just before the top starts to lift.
Wouldn't that allow twice the total slack?

Good question. Did you find the recommendation was accurate or not?
I don't know, because I have never checked afterward.

So in reading this it seems like you’re keeping the AK- I agree as it’s nice to have variety in what you ride. Sometimes, you just want to twist and go, and other times, ride a more traditional bike. Enjoy it! I had the Silverwing out yesterday- not as fast as the ST’s , but a nice diversion (~ 130 miles round trip yesterday). Next time I’m riding it’ll be the 2000 ST.

Took some time to add a few things to the Vulcan S today. I already had the phone holder and RAM arm but the handlebar mount was added. Also added the luggage rack with rider back rest, side stand pad, rear paddock lift spools, and the Givi magnetic tank bag (the side wings are magnetic but it does have a strap around the front steering stem). My big dry bag fits perfectly on the luggage rack across the bike. The Shad side cases are shipped and will soon arrive in about a week and the ends of my big dry bag will be supported on those.

And today the USB phone charge module with battery volt meter arrived so I put that on as well. It's switched so I'll have to remember to unplug and turn it off to prevent running down the battery. I already have a few of the blue USB cables that are the perfect length.
The dealer already installed a Battery Tender plug on the side hanging out below the seat. I may relocate that some day.

Someone once suggested that a luggage rack like mine would wobble side to side if much weight was put on it. NOPE! It is very solid.

Went on a short errand to test out the phone mount and USB plug and all that works fine. The only downside is that the bright sunshine washes out the voltage meter so I cannot read it while riding. I can see the meter face but cannot read the voltage. At night it should be rather bright though.

It’s great to farkle it, but ride it. Get the break in miles and first service. You can still make FerrySTOC. I wondering if Russ is coming or is waiting for you?

Lots going on at home right now but I am trying to get some miles in between the rain storms. The next few days are looking sketchy for rain but after this weekend looks good... if I can find the time.
Just don't know if I'll be able to get another 393 miles before May 12. I already have the oil on hand and should have the filters by this weekend and the side cases will be here by next week. So it will be close but maybe too close.

edit: Most of the farkles I am installing are needed for travel (luggage rack, phone holder mount for navigation, tank bag). This weekend it looks like I'll have the bracket I need to install the Shad side cases mounts. And the side cases are due to arrive Thursday now. There is no storage on this bike and no place to tie on dry bags before the luggage and rack I install.

edit edit: "The supreme commander" says she let me get the bike so now I have to paint the LR, foyer, hallway, stairwell. 10 ft ceilings are a LONG way up there on a ladder for my old bod.

I think @ardykay54 is considering going even if I don't. I have a few campsites reserved half way and he asked me not to cancel them just yet. So...

Take the AK, it’s why you put a trailer on it, and the phrase to the Commander goes something like “of course, as soon as I get back, first thing I’ll do”.
