is Honda (and Japan in general) punishing us?

In my mind though, it really isn't about how fast I can go. It's more about how much I enjoy the ride. I can be fast by one person's standards, and slow by someone else's...but that doesn't matter. Only...did I enjoy it enough to come back again.

Sums it up for me too. I'm faster than some, slower than others. Of the 5 guys I normally ride with, I'm slower than two and faster than two, but it's never a race for me. Each ride is for my enjoyment. I tend to ride in taller gears, at lower rpms, without rowing the gearbox. Smoothly transitioning on and off throttle. I prefer to ride smoother than faster. People that follow me often comment that I don't use my brakes, but that's because I choose lines thru curves that don't require a lot of brakes ...flowing....like a lazy stream around a big smooth rock lol

Hmmm
Seems to be different accounts.

That’s what he told me and I had no reason to doubt him.

Edit to add that the injury that ended his riding career was a freak accident adjusting the RH mirror on his commercial truck. The mirror shattered and cut his right arm deeply, severing tendons and connective tissues.

Lol this just came across my tablet from Cycle News

For 2025, Yamaha is replacing the previous top-specification TRACER 9 GT+ with the standard specification TRACER 9 to “provide a simpler and more attainable riding experience along with a range of new features and key enhancements to ensure a level of performance and capability nothing else in its price category can touch,” says Yamaha."

So the USA doesnt get the top tier stuff so we can have " a simpler and more attainable riding experience"

Bwahahahaha thanks Yamaha

Apparently the GT + was too complicated for us!

Does it matter? The 2025 Tracer 9 is $4K less than the 2024 Tracer 9 GT+. But look at this photo from Yamaha.

That's the best shot they can offer? And if that's the best view of the bike, how bad are the other views? It's ugly. ;)

Only a manufacturer could love it. Or a mother...but I don't think it has one...

Do they leave the TFT display from the GT, or the nose-and-eyes face which you can't unsee once you've seen it :)?

Don't know if things have changed but historically Honda would advise importers of what the model line up for the following year would be.

It was then up to each national, or regional importer, to order quantities and colour options for each model based upon what they believed they could sell in their market.
