Have a great trip, I know lots of us will be following along.
The wind alone can make for a tiring day. What a day! Got my 200 mi in the cold, wind, rain and the last 35 mi in a wet slushy snowstorm. Im beat. Three aspirin, a hot shower with a beer as company and something to eat. Seems every tour begins like this for me. Im moteling in a dump and will b diving south tomorrow to get away from great lakes weather and toward warmer temps. I didnt realise how out of shape ive become. Im fried!

Yea, first rides after a layoff are tough, especially an injury layoff. Listen to your body, if it says you need a rest, do so. If it says break for the night, listen to it then too. There is always tomorrow.
Upstate NY is beautiful.
In about a month I will be riding (or maybe trailering ... plans not settled yet) from Ohio to Virginia, then meeting up with 2 buds and riding up the coast line thru Va, Maryland, NY, NJ, Delaware, and Conn to Rhode Island to pick up 4 of the last 5 states I need to complete the lower 48. Hoping the weather is warmer/dryer by then lol.
Have fun, stay safe.
YMMV but I always keep 1 or 2 $50 bills folded up and hidden on the bike in case my wallet is lost or my bank card is disabled in some way.Well, its gonna be what its gonna be. The last tours i was gone about two months each. This one might have to be six weeks. I never carry cash, but i am this ride because some places discount the gas w cash. Im also pondering grabbing some work in pagosa where my kids live.
I guess this ride will be a day at a time. Many thanks for the tip!
Ummmmm, where do u hide the money, and where is the bike now? Desperate times man!YMMV but I always keep 1 or 2 $50 bills folded up and hidden on the bike in case my wallet is lost or my bank card is disabled in some way.
What is the bag hanging off the front?
Thanks! My kids keep asking when im going to b there. I suspect they have hatched a plan! After riding in hail, sleet and snow, rain aint so bad!It wouldn’t be a Pop-Pop tour if it didn’t have snow. Your seat muscles will have some last your memory as the days in the saddle flip by. Safe journey and don’t cry at the pumps. Just charge more money at the job in Co, unless of course it is for the kids. Wishing you warm sunny days ahead.
Stayed there a number of years ago in one of the nice little cabins.if you get around the Bristol aria look up my campground. switchbackcreek in shady valley tn.
I have him in my gps. Exactly in my route.Stayed there a number of years ago in one of the nice little cabins.
Safe, fun early season trip Pop - Pop.
Do u have tent sites?you might want to reserve a cabin as it can get busy this time of year. at least give me heads up a day or 2 before you get here.
If the world needed an enema, God would stick the hose in Jersey! I'd love to ride the bridge in del that scares the pants off everyone! Did the left lane of the mackinaw last tour and it really was frightening!
If u ride the ct coast, you can see where they build submarines. Seeing them is something!
