Im leaving boston

Ask yourself if you will be out that way again? Montana and Wyoming are beautiful. I never understood the term Big Sky until I went there. Might as well do Idaho while there and .. maybe wait until you’ve had a 3 coffee morning.

U know, i have three cups most every morning and agree totally with you. Was thinking about that today. I so much more, enjoy being “ way out there” versus heavy traffic and a million tourists. Riding undisturbed is a great pleasure.

Dude you are in the Holy Trinity of Texas BBQ. North of Austin in Taylor, there is Louie Muellers BBQ, just South of Austin is Lockhart, with Kreuz and also Blacks BBQ. Go East, there's a place called Elgin, check out Southside, and Meyers. Check some of them out of at all possible. The only one disappointed will be your cardiologist.....

If you at all interested in racing, Circuit of the Americas is just SE of Austin, may be able to get a look inside...

Yes! Gotta git me sum o dat!

Then there's Franklin BBQ too. I had hoped to eat there before departing from the USGP in 2017, but they're closed on Monday. I went anyway just to see the place and a truck with a load of their firewood arrived. I started talking to the driver, "This is the wood that smokes their BBQ. You're an important man." No one had ever stopped to talk to him like that before. He yells into the loading dock, "Get this man some BBQ!" They opened the place for me to buy some cryo-packed brisket to take home. :) It always pays to be friendly.

Awsome! Ill b looking at the maps tonight! Have to burn some time in tx before the meet. Bikeshop, laundry and a oil change are all i have now. Of course, a ride too!

I had been wondering the same thing as I followed this adventure. Once you hit the Pacific, is it 'tag, you're it' and pointing yourself east again?

The Pacific Coast Highway, especially in the northern California section that includes Big Sur is worth the diversion IMO. Recent landslide at Rat Creek which closed a significant portion should be open by April 30th if you're so inclined.

You're reminding me of my 93 adventure from Vermont and back again on my 1100. :) Only you've got the internet and hundreds (dozens?) of fans cheering you on and lending advice all along the way. I had newspapers.
I went to college in vermont and ski bummed in stowe when i was a kid. Fond memories. Bought my first honda in college. A 360.

Looks like a great trip Michael. I'm guessing that pic was taken at Hwy 6?

NEVER.EVER. Leave a city guy with a pile of wood and a can of spray wax. I had that baby burning in five minutes! Im 18 mi out of meridan and camping in a well cared for “ primitive” campsite. This was my first fire i made as far back as i can remember! The manager here saw i was going tom hanks on the island and dragged over a big old chunk of 2x4 and asked me to dispose of it! Sure!
i had no cell service so the fire was my fun for the night.
gonna do a loop today and see whats in town. Its nice to see the stars

It is. Thre caretaker cares for the place well. Its a nice ride back to meridian too.
what's the name of that place? Might be good to keep on the list of TX sites to stop at and camp when I don't feel like making it the rest of the way to Dallas.

First one up at ranch stock. Its still dark, sprinkling and threatening rain and im hung over! I really did not expect to have such a nice time. The road coming in here was def not made for a city boy! All rock and mud. My bike was sliding everywhere but i learned again! Paved roads are going to b a piece of cake now!E368A602-C108-4BEC-A93B-585E4DA71AD4.jpegCC4F733A-AA74-4D5F-8927-B01CCAB6088C.jpegC86B8B37-1B5E-46A5-9501-BDD4BF6FC0AE.jpeg
