Its more about time and money, than destination. I do plan to meet my new grand daughter and see my kids in pagosa springs co., and a bike meet in meridian tx. Other than that, wherever i want. Dont have to b back in boston till 6/5. Ive never seen the pacific or a desert. Id like to see them.
 
Gonna go from harrisonburg to white sulpher springs, which is about 130 mi of state roads. They are famous for dandilions? Ill bet there are some nice roads along the way! Just waiting for it to get warmen. Its still 21 degrees.

Im heading thru the appalations today to the daniel boone natl forest. I really doubt ill make it. Its thru some pretty wicked hills and is about 300 mi. I checked motels and they are pretty cheap along the way.
Im skipping the rt 64 part and finding my way to state road 52. Im tired of interstates.
i do know that when i get tired or too cold( per the last three days) i get sloppy on the bike.

Wow! Just went thru coal country! All steep and curvy! The valleys were so deep the sun could not get in. My feet got cold for the first time. Passed budding trees with flourescent purple buds. Hundreds of coal cars on the tracks. Was in a valley of about a thousand people and i talked to a guy that had never left that valley. He really didnt understand me!
seems the new industry in coal country is churches. Kajillions of them!
Getting breakfast was easier in utah on a sunday morning! I cracked and hit a mc donalds, much to my dismay.

Well, im in kentucky now! I ended up on a few four laners but there was no traffic. Have not seen many freighters. Its 66 degrees and i found a cheap motel in hazard ky. Someone has to have a conversation w w va. None of the roads are straight and they always are going up and down!
I finally saw a few bikers today. All harleys. Where were they when the going was tough?

We like 'em that way! Wish I would have caught up with this thread earlier as I would've given you some routes west and south out of Harrisonburg, VA. You should come back in the fall for WV-STOC.

Just so u know. I booked a room in hazard ky. Come to find out the room is 48 miles north of here and the opposite direction i want to go, which doubles the 48 mi.
they will not refund me. By by priceline. Just a warning to fellow travelers. Im out $60. Ill sleep in a homeless shelter before i give them another nickel. And, yes,im pissed!
