If all goes as planned, I'll be headed west on Monday on BlueBelle to begin a ride up Highway 93.
It starts in Wickenburg, AZ and crosses the Canadian Border at Roosville (but I will not be crossing over into Canada).
I've scheduled a ride-in at Russell Daylong (a little bit of a detour! ;)) so I can get a 4th RDL for my ST1100s - that way each lady will have her 'own' RDL.
I plan to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell on the way to it and catch up with FreeStyle Don and Joyce in Las Cruces.
And Mark and Chris have graciously consented to put me up for a night when I pass their way - even though it will cause a decrease in their property values.
I've also got a connection in Tuscon to ride with some ST1100 riders while I'm passing through.
On the way back I am planning on finally touring the Little Big Horn Battlefield as I have passed by it a half a dozen times over the years and never stopped.
I also plan a run through the South Dakota Badlands while I am at it.
I'll try to keep this spot posted as wi-fi access permits.
If you happen to be along the way somewhere, hopefully we can connect!
Here's a view of the 'intended' route (night markers mean nothing ;)) -

Looks like a great trip. I have ridden pretty much every good motorcycle road in the western US, and of course you can’t hit them all in one trip. But if I were doing it I would not go east from Great Falls MT though eastern Montana and South Dakota (lots of major flatland which you will have seen enough of coming north to Twin Falls). There is so much good riding to the south in Wyoming (Yellowstone, the Tetons etc) and Colorado. If you’ve been there done that, please ignore my comments as I am sure the battlefield tour is very worthwhile and something I have not done.

Probably out of your way and messes with schedule but leaving Las Cruces to Lordsburg, then hwy 70 to Duncan, AZ, hwy 75 from there to Clifton/Morenci where you pick up hwy191 (formerly hwy 666) up to Alpine, AZ is a great ride. Not sure they have copper mines like the one in Morenci near the holler, but it is a sight to see. You will travel around 12/15 miles past this Freeport McMoran monstrosity. It's beautiful and ugly at the same time. Can't imagine OpX daily for this place.
Anyway, have a great trip and try to miss any Alaska type ruts on this trip.

Alpine is just a little too far out (I've already ridden 191 back when it was 666 ;)).
@Mophead - Would 70 be better than 180 (then 78 across) toward Morenci out of Las Cruces?

Already done that several times - but I've just never stopped by the battlefield though I've been by it a bunch.
Now that I'm retired I am trying to visit the places that I didn't take time to see when I was juggling vacation days! ;)

Looks like you are getting close to Tombstone, Arizona. A great history story still exists in the old part of the town. The Little Bighorn site has probably changed somewhat since I saw it in 1983, but standing near the hilltop, overlooking the valley below and the markers denoting where Custer and several of his men fell, gives a sense of the horror they must have faced as they saw the enormous number of warriors coming across the valley below towards them.

Hope you have a trouble free journey!

From Eueka to the border there is nothing but flat land with a few houses a waste of a 1/2 hour unless you really want to see a border crossing.

If you are planning an overnight near Kansas City it would be great to meet you in person. Send me a PM if you have time for coffee or a meal.

How close is Platte City to where you live?
I'll be overnighting at the Super 8 (2500 NW Prairie View Road) on the evening of July 2nd on my way back.

If you're rolling through that part of SD, it's worth detouring to see the Dignity sculpture. I'm actually kicking myself for not walking around the back part for a rear view of the blanket.

That and Crazy Horse.

I’m in Paola, Ks. It’s roughly an hour south of Platte City.

Already been by Crazy Horse and unfortunately I will not be that far east in South Dakota.
But I will make a note as the Dignity Statue looks very interesting.
**EDIT - Duh!! I was looking at the wrong day!
Looks like I will be passing right by it on July 2 (after some 'minor adjustments') so it's on the list - Thanks!!!**

Dignity very much worth the stop. Unusual and beautiful statue and a great view of the MO River. South Dakota Veterans Park down by the river is a nice memorial.
