H4 LED - 2018 Evitek, F2 replaces G6

When one company makes something good It looks like the others quickly try to get in on the action....

There are other offerings....

this is the F2 in a different box but it is on amazon and you can get it quickly....

I got the one from TOPMAX overnight. It is a 23.8 watt bulb, the back to back emitters are 105 mills, --- but not so good

--------------the edge of the shield is too close to the emitters... the cut off is not as good as it could be.... sorry about that these are just here for reference

and another ( I have not check these out, but it shows that a good thing gets noticed.... then copied )

https://www.amazon.com/NAO-Headligh..._rd_wg=8ppoz&refRID=5DSPZ2DW4H89920Y4WS3&th=1

and more.....

you will notice that they say they use a thin heat sink and lumileds/cree zes or csp flip chips....

The important thing here is that you the consumer know there have been technical improvements in LED bulbs. First it was the shield, now it is the focus. The more you know will help you make better choices. If you try any of the other bulbs with better focus then let everyone know here. I can only do so much. I am sure with time there will be more options.

Again this is a technical thread so NO vendor bashing. Lets just talk about what works and does not work.

You guys will let me know when there is enough of an improvement to replace my G6 bulbs right?

Difference between the G6 and F2 is that the F2 is 50% more light and tighter focus. I use the focus-able mag light as an example. If you focus the beam to a tight spot that is the F2 if you slightly defocus the beam making a slightly larger beam, that is the G6. The low beam the F2 puts more light down the road and the G6 puts more light on the sides of the road and close in but it is hard to notice this difference. The high beam you will notice a difference. If you seldom drive at night, or do drive on well lit streets keep the G6. If you drive a lot at night on dark roads it might be worth upgrading. The G6 is a good light the F2 is still just slightly better. With light you need to go a 3 times improvement or more to get a wow factor.

FYI:
Evitek currently offers the T8 bulb which, performance wise, sits between the G6 and the F2.

Nothing....I know the inspector from my golf club !:):)
LOL [emoji16]
I would give some in the low 3000K a try, but the ones avail are way higher, emitting white/blueish, thus conspicuous glare...

... transmitted from a CAT S60 thing ...

The important thing about the F2 H4 bulb is that it has a good shield and the emitters are small and in the same location and shape as the original halogen bulb. The original euro H4 system is known for its near zero glare. Glare that is prevented by the correct placement of the shield. The smaller leds and correct focus creates a sharper cut off and a more precise beam pattern also reducing glare. Glare (light above cut off) was added back in the design of the USA 9003 headlight! There maybe more glare from the position lights than from the headlights..... color temperature has little effect on glare.... but it maybe more conspicuous because it is different.

I'm not a fan of the 6000k as they are too blue for me. Around 5000k is a nice whiter light, whereas 3000k is on the yellow side like the original halogens. What I recommend is have someone ride your bike while you ride a few hundred yards ahead of it, adjust up just until they become really visible. It always surprises me how so many are too low and you're really not all that visible.

This new F2 bulb from Evitek is revolutionary. The LEDs are the correct size and shape and at the focus point. HIDs were a failure because the arc was too fat and curved. LED COBs were a fail because they were too big and too far from the focus point. Smaller LEDs were better but they were not at the focus point because of a thick heat spreader. With all the preceding fails to be DOT compliant, there is a lot of doubt that it could ever be done. I think we are witnessing a change in the paradigm....... time for popcorn.... These are too new and have not gone though all the legal hoops yet.

Remember, the Cibie Z beam when it came out was not legal. Halogen bulbs were too bright! It took years before we got out of the pre-halogen era......

I had the Z Beam on my 1975 VW Rabbit! I have Hella Ecodes on my 02 motorhome that uses square sealed beams. I'll probably replace the bulbs with LED's at some point.

Ah yes I remember it well. DOT certification is not a requirement for me if a product meets DOT requirements. I'd just as soon not wait for the formality.

I emailed Cindy on some F2s for the ST and my car. Shipping is $12 each. Is that what you other guys have paid? I think it's more than I paid for the G6s.

Also what info do I send her to get an invoice? I forgot from the first time 'round.

Mine came today. Had the dash off anyway, so loads of room to fit. Just went out for a road test (8:30pm in the UK- it's dark). Low beam is better than my fancy pants halogens. Main beam is staggeringly good. There is no way anyone could fit these and not be happy.

If you're in the UK, they cost £30, takes 3 weeks to arrive, 1/2 hour to fit and are as good as it gets.

My shipping was $12 as well. However, I ordered about 6 weeks ago, I reached out to Cindy a couple weeks ago and they had a problem with the address and it was returned. It has allegedly been reshipped. Can't wait to get them fitted, along with some other behind the tupperware odds and ends to do.

Any chance to get confirmation that these will fit the 1100 ? I assume so as Phil has them, but thought I'd ask. One light in my original LED set failed after 3 or 4 years and I bought another set from the same supplier in China, but the distance between the reflector mount and the fan housing was smaller than the original set and there was no way to fit this set to the 1100, ie, get the spring in place, even with the headlight off the bike.

none is needed from your paypal account.

look at the attached invoice and there should be an e-mail address ending in -------126.com
go into your payal account and send the Total amount to that e-mail address.
I add to the paypal note the invoice number, what was ordered and my mailing address... just to be sure.

I just got my F2 9005 high beams and replaced the XHP50 leds that I had in my truck. Sooo much better!
no more fluffy light, a nice focused beam... It was raining out, so I made a quick swap. I will take pictures another day......

I am not sure which bulb you got, the F2 fan is shorter but the area where the clip goes seems adequate, but some one with a 1100 will have to answer your question.....

Ok took some quick hand held pictures at 8 feet with a DRZ headlight, so that you can see the H4 beam patterns,

low beam --- in this order ---- Halogen ---- F2 ------

Halogen.jpg

F2_low.jpg

The F2, with the sharp cut off the bright spot is right on the horizontal line (of the cut off) putting maximum light where you want it down the road.....
Gee just like the H4 halogen pattern..

Over 4 years ago I was told that you can not put a LED in a halogen headlight, and they are still telling me that. I knew it could be done and here it is......

I haven't received an invoice yet.

Cindy said to send my PayPal account information and she'd send an invoice. I don't know what that is.

I don't need to upgrade my G6s but since I'm ordering some 9007 F2s for my car— what the hey. Why not.

do not send pay pal information. Send her your shipping address and how many of each you want, she will send you an excel invoice.
