FL-Central: Tag

Went for a ride today.
The new tag picture looks like it belongs in the FL Western Tag, not Central FL. IIRC the Central FL Tag is sited south of SR 40.

Are you're referring to the 40 that runs from ~Ocala to Ormond Beach? Then, yes the tag is south of 40. Is Central south of SR 40, coast to coast?
where is the eastern boundary for the western area?

Yes, I believe by convention at some point agreement was found on State Rd 40 and a line extending west to the coast as the top demarcation of Central FL tag area. Johnson Beach FL search led me astray to West Florida. I guess 'Johnson's Beach' is somewhere along the Withlachoochee watershed.

I'm not sure how extensive the Withlacoochee watershed is but I don't think the beach is part of it.

So... what needs to be done? Delete the last entry?

I can't figure out how you concluded that. I've spent a half hour trying to figure out where that last picture is, and all I can find is Pensacola, Perdido Key, or a resort in central Canada. And even then, I can't find that particular sign.

I'm not saying that each tag needs a set of instructions, but I've always tried to make sure that my tag pictures are done in such a way that sufficient clues are in the picture. Otherwise, you might as well take a picture of a tree in a field in Georgia.

To me, at least, the point of the tag games is to incentivize people to ride, not to make people frustrated trying to figure out where it is.

I agree, when I'm able to play I try to make it obvious. Some state tags, not this one, turn into riddles which just cause me to not want to play. You can always ask for a clue, if no response is given then I'll delete the tag and it reverts back to the previous one.

@Ron - I'll need you to help with this one. I can't find "Johnson's Beach" in any location that can be construed as central Florida.

I don't know why this interested me so, and since I'm not going to get a FL tag; Googling "Johnson's Beach bar" led me to checking the street view around Gator Joe's Beach Bar & Grill.

Palomino Blonde often plays here. Once I had a clue of the band on the marque it led me to Gator Joe’s. If I’m not mistaken we ate twice here on FLSTOCS and one NC700X FL Rendezvous. I knew the sign was somewhere in the area of the Withlacoochee River I just couldn’t remember where. The name of the band was the clue. I left home at 6:30 AM and took some fun roads.

and here I thought they were advertising Palomino Blonde Ale, hence my search for a bar.

Did the tag just get moved . . . from Central Florida to Western Florida?

Confused,
Shuey

Edit: No longer confused. :doh1:
