FJR1300 and Super Tenere dropped from Yam website

I have a 2014 ST1300.
Yup - but they were still selling STs in other countries for several years after they "officially" stopped here and some were imported due to demand from dealers.

The key point is that those VINs on those bikes were registered in the model year that is listed on the VIN tag and that cannot be changed.

I don't know how it is on ST1300s, but on ST1100s the 'year' is on a label on the headstock along with the vin number. ;)

The last year for the FJR in Europe was I believe 2022 and they did it with a special edition black and gold..... because it didn't meet Euro5 emissions. Canada got a black and gold one a year later, but it's stayed in North America..... I do believe there are unsold ones, but no worries, I think you'll see a 2025 in the US in due time.

The 2025 Tracer9 is now a trimmed down version, actually sounds like the GT...... no more adaptive cruise and all that other stuff we didn't need (which was the GT+). I had an interesting talk with the Yamaha rep at the bike show last year and I told him they wouldn't sell. There I go being right again, lol.

Is it registered in Canada or the US? In the US there aren’t any 2014s, last year was 2012 although dealers sold new in crate civilian and authority models well after 2012.

Where I read also mentions catalyst deterioration which means over time it is not efficient, In automotive there is a sensor before and after the Cat, there is a strategy for adjustment to stay in compliance. Anybody see before and after sensors yet? Maybe the Goldwing?
I don’t think motorcycles fall under Euro 6. The next thing for EC bikes to meet in January 2025 is Euro 5+ which attaches durability requirements on emissions and sound limits. EC concerned that bikes meet requirements at the date of sale but have to prove it at 35,000 km.

It is registered in Canada. I plugged the VIN into the NHTSA Vin decoder and the following info came up:

  • It was manufactured at the Kumamoto Factory, Kumamoto, Kikuchi, Japan
  • Destination Market: Canada
  • 2014 Model Year
I took a look at the VIN/Registration info on the label on the left headstock and it was all Canadian registration including the french translation.

So there you have it, mystery solved. That NHTSA site is pretty cool.

Yeah, my 2012 was bought in September 2015, as NOS.
