Do I really have to adjust my valves???

Preliminary Data -

I just checked the valves, all in tolerance except #2 fore exhaust...measures somewhere between 0.009 and 0.008 inches.

However, the bike is ~ 5 hours cool after a 22 mile ride.

I will re-check all valves tomorrow morning for the 'real' data.

Well, there are three valves out of tolerance.

I double and triple checked the out of tolerance valves, using a secondary English feeler gauge, and a Metric feeler gauge.

It took longer, but I measured all of the valves (using a Go-NoGo methodology) using both the English and Metric feeler gages. I was able to get better resolution on the values using the Metric.

#1 Front Intake, between 0.004 and 0.005 inches. Metric measured between 0.10 and 0.11 mm

#3 Front Intake, between 0.004 and 0.005 inches. Metric measured between 0.12 and 0.13 mm

#2 Front Exhaust, between 0.008 and 0.009 inches. Metric measured between 0.20 and 0.21 mm

All other values in tolerance, although some are close to low end of spec.

Looks like I'll be learning how to adjust these puppies (along with Fred's help!)

PM sent, let me know when you want to tear into it...
