The Ferry
Reservations and rates will be available March 17th 2025. For the most part motorcycles usually can get a spot, however this is a Holiday Weekend! I would strongly suggest a reservation.
No matter what, you should check in 1 hour prior to departure.

So you're coming up then?
(Its OK, we still like you guys, ... so far :roflmao: )
Don't know Jeff. Definitely has my attention. 50/50 I suppose.
Likely way too much planning involved for my liking. Others being involved would be a help with that though.
Fun to think about. We'll see.

Is it in accommodation you need help with?
Just not a big planner Robert. More of a spontaneous seat of the pants guy. Accomodations, stops, routes, meals. My usual preference of riding alone is largely about all of this. Where to easily and affordably stop for the night is always a little concerning on a long trip. But such a group type ride is attractive, would be interesting and make these things easier in a way.

OK. Unfortunately, there’s a couple of days that don’t give you much options. I will identify one in particular, and give you some options. The route from Elliot Lake to Rabbit Blanket Lake ( just south of Wawa). There aren’t many services on 129. As an option you could ride from Elliot lake to St. Joseph Island. That route will give you plenty of affordable motel options, and you can meet up with us in Massey.
Now from Manitoulin Island there are a few towns to explore and taking hwy 6 North, Espanola has numerous options for food and accommodation.
If you don’t wish to take the ferry and still meet up with us, driving around via Parry Sound and Sudbury to Espanola is an option, probably cheaper too.
The Sunday and Monday being part of the Labour Day Weekend holiday may be an issue if you don’t have a reservation for accommodation.

FYI. Cell service will be touch and go on highway 129 to Chapleau and 101 from Chapleau to Wawa.
From Wawa to the Sault there are pockets with no cell service.
I will have my InReach Mini 2, I will be able to receive text messages on that unit, in the event we get separated, providing that you have a satellite device that can text.

I found this tour interesting, I lived on Manitoulin for a few years, and grew up in Sudbury and know this area fairly well.
If you only wish to join us for first part of the tour or pick us up during the last part of the tour, here’s an option.
Three day tour
