Hey Kiltman,

I assume it's OK to join in for part of the adventure? Are you reserving group sites where adding or losing one more tent now & then, could work?

For example I may ride the ferry and come home after that, or spend a night or even 2 before splitting off, depending on what else is going on.

Or, find you near the end of your adventure. Meet y'all up on 638 or similar, spend a night & then on to onstoc with you.

I like your questions.
Yes it would be OK to take part in any part of the adventure. If one wanted to spend more time in an area, for example stay on Manitoulin for a few days then meet up at another location or not, it's not an issue.
Reserving sites, will not be an issue at this point as it will be off season for most of the time. Having said that, The one in Providence Bay is one I shall make a reservation at.
I will post some alternative routes that folk might be interested in if they want to venture away on their own.

The origins of this event.
In years past some of us have been looking at having ONSToc up in Northern Ontario. There were numerous challenges in finding a location that would be good to host the event. It ideally would have a facility with cabins and a camping option, with plenty route options that could address various skill levels for riders to be entertained. If you're an ADV rider and can deal with trails, gravel roads and remote areas, Northern Ontario has a lot to offer. A lot of which is not that endearing to the ST platform. ;)
Hence the rolling ride to camp theme.
What I've compiled, are four days of routes that have some good roads, a few twist and turns but above all some fabulous scenery.
Over the next few weeks I will go into more detail on each route on what one can expect to see and do.
I'm also open to other route suggestions. Jeff F. brought up some good options....partaking in parts of the ride, meeting up at campgrounds or lunch stops. For example a group could go to St Joseph Island instead of taking The "Tail of the Dragon" northern version (hwy 129) and then meet up in Batchawana bay...lots of options.
Camping can be as simple or as complicated as you want. We can help each other out here.

This sounds interesting Robert. I'll be thinking about it. Though not sure about crawling in and out of a tent anymore.
It would however bring back not so great memories of a little problem 14 years ago.

I have an extra hammock, that I’m willing to lend out….beats crawling out of a tent…offers the same weather protection as a tent.

This is a similar tour. It will give you an idea of what there is to offer.

Depending on your route, an option for some who'd like to do the ride, but prefer not to camp, would be local hotels or motels or a B & B option. Split off at the end of the day and meet up the next morning.

I don't sleep so good on the ground or in the trees, but I'd do the hotel thing. I may be "semi-retired" at that time and looking for more seat time...hmmmm.

Day 1: I see a couple of hotels in Providence bay, just minutes from the camp. Not sure about cost or open times, but options exist.

Day 2: Elliot Lake has a couple options. Umm are you on paved roads mostly? Or should I buy some 80/20 tires for the VFR1200X?

Day 3: Wawa (and south a bit) has options.

Day 4: There's always the Massey hotel (Only option I saw).

I will seriously consider this. If I'm off, I'm almost certainly in.

Thanks Robert.

A definite maybe Robert. You had me at Cinnamin Buns.

Come on Dean. You just need a bigger tent. Maybe bring a cot? And remember Chef Robert on site.

Yes all paved roads. If you wish some gravel roads I know some in the area that will get you to the end destination for the days run.
You just need a bigger tent
You bring the tent you brought the last time and we will all be able to sleep in that one and leave our tents at home…. ;)
Methinks the cinnamon buns are actually the best apple fritters at Voyageurs on Batchawana Bay.
I was wrong…it is indeed Apple fritters….

Thanks for the offer Robert but that doesn't sound all that appetizing either. Those breakfasts do though! I certainly would have the time to do this interesting trip. But funds for a week of motel stays maybe not so much. We'll see.
Do you have a Google maps file of the route?
