2018- How Many Nights in a Tent ?

Only 6 nights this year. Didn't get to half the trips I wanted due to family things happening like kids selling house and moving in with us, then last month moving out and into their new house. Both times over weekends I would have liked to attend a STOC event.

I still don't mind tent camping. Sometimes think about going back to a Mini Mate camper but not likely any time soon. I just take more care "rolling" out of the tent.

Zero... bones at this age don't like tents. Give me at least a cabin with a good bed.
Funny but at 68 I sleep better on the ground with a three inch thick Thermorest than any bed anywhere, back never hurts bones like it. When the wife tells me to sleep on the floor at home, I’m sure she just wants me to be comfortable.

Did anyone see what Colorado State Parks did? They raised camping rates from $18 to $28 plus the additional park pass from $3 to $4.:confused1:

2 things really burn my chaps about State Parks - first is those that charge for camping then charge an entry/ park pass fee for entering the park (Colorado), the second is those states that use Reserve America (more and more states) that charge a reservation fee even for "walk ins" at the gate that never had a reservation.

Was planning a trip that way but now have second thoughts. Probably do a flyby and stay at Forest service camps where I get a 50% discount!:tent3:

There are several FREE USFS campgrounds in Colorado .....Iron Springs and Columbine Pass near Montrose, and Free to $5 BLM camping can also be found.

Well my total, only 21 nights for 2018.
Someone suggested to me... Start a new camping thread at beginning of 2019 and run it thru the entire year... Okay

Great idea!

Maybe we can convince Joe to add another tracker for Camping nights like the Mileage tracker :p

Will none motorcycle camping nights qualify?

I'd vote only if you hauled everything there with your bike!

The exception being you where the event host and had to trailer the bike to supply us other campers with quality wheelbarrow fire pits, Those nights would count.

Known a few people to buy a camp chair from walmart for the night, would that disqualify as a camping night.

As Padden says: “Just Saying”

Nope that would be camping in a chair. I haven't found that thread yet. Go for it!
