I did a bit of plastic welding to address a floppy windshield. There were cracks and broken holes, but this part was the worst.

Had new PR5GT's and new front brake pads fitted today, left bike shop AU$659.80 lighter, found a long twisty route to ride home, will get a longer ride in a couple days. May seem a little pricey, but considering current exchange rate, I'm pretty happy.
Summer must be coming.....
Still 'refurbishing' my 1991. Started off simple enough....fuel, water, vent hoses. The week long project just completed its second week. I keep finding stuff that doesn't look quite right and needs repainting, cleaning or replacement. Yesterday, I installed the front half of a Delkevic exhaust system. Today, I will remove and refinish the final drive unit, change out the oil and flush the hydraulics. Reassembly may begin tomorrow.....but I'm not holding my breath.
Word of caution...if you are OCD, pay someone else to do your 'simple' jobs.

I don't see the OCD condition as a negative, while working on your own bike.
But I readily acknowledge that these "simple" jobs, let alone a more complex one, will take me about 3 times longer than those of you with more experience. My parts will be cleaner than many of yours, however.
At the same time, virtually everything I do on this bike will essentially be "the first time."
Excepting fairing removal, either wheel removal, and oil changes. See what I've already learned in 6000 miles since March?
Which is a great time to remind y'all -- I really APPRECIATE all the experience, wisdom and help you share here. Makes me feel like I could do almost anything mechanical or electrical on this bike.

Well, not "today" but this Saturday I collected all my parts to install the rear crash guards in hopes to preserve my saddlebags. I've already dropped it once, practicing tight turns at low speed. A hundred pounds more than the previously heaviest bike I've ever owned. The tipover bar prevented damage to the bag, and I was delighted for that.
And yes, I do know the bags are removable.
So here's how the bars installed... first I ordered the adapter plates from @reddirtcowboy, and then used his recommendation for an in-state custom trike builder to source the actual take-offs from a new GoldWing. I met Jeffrey to pick up the bars, as he is only an hour north of me, and I saved shipping plus got them quicker.
Here is everything I needed to install them. Except the 8mm wrench!! dangit, had to wait to get back home.
Here's the left side installed a little later that day.
And here's the right side. Note the difference in clearance to the saddlebag on either side. Both adapters are rotated fully forward, in that oval hole on top. Wuzzuup? I don't get it.
And here's Jeffrey, who met me for personal delivery of the bars themselves. He has loads of GoldWing tires, nearly new, from the 2-wheelers before they are transformed into trikes. Thanks, Jeffrey!

Bought a new thermostat for my 1100 last week £62 ouch!!! Stripped the plastic off this morning, that took a good couple of hours and fitted thermostat in 5 mins, Tested for any leaks and none to be found which was nice, she warmed up a lot quicker. This was going to be a winter job but at last the weather is to be dry for the rest of this week so thought I would make the most of it.
Ouch!! They're expensive here too, about $42. There are several thermostats listed for cars that can be used for less than $10. One is a Stant 13868 or equivalent. I believe it fits a Honda Accord here in the USA. Same with the radiator cap, a Stant 11233 or 11242 and a Gates 31336, both fit the ST1100.

Big day today. Got the ‘04 registered and insured, put 100 miles in on round trip for inspection in Lewiston, ME.
Finally emptied the old tank of gas and she got her first new fill up.

Oh man.... I can’t wait for tomorrow. DMV called that my tags are ready. Picked them up this evening and will be on first thing in the morning. Gas and go!
Days like this in November up here feel like stealing. Tomorrow I’m dropping off my skis for preseason tuning and then going for a ride!
Put new tires on mine & went for a short ride to the beach. It’s runs & handles amazing
Still working away on my 1991 refurbishment. Most every day brings me to a halt with an unanticipated issue. My rebuilt carb changeover with the stock carbs fell flat. Could not get the carbs to sync. So today I'm cleaning/rebuilding my originals. As I was cleaning up last evening, I found the rear caliper stop bolt still in the magnetic bowl. Gotta remove the new left muffler and put it back where it goes.
